Still not understanding why they needed to break from the aspect ratio. More laborious to code another AR.
Job security? heh

When you simply can't innovate, just make it longer.
zzz = $$$
...doesn't help to sue a few people as well.
I'm more interested in the unreleased, green iP4 (jk)
EDIT: On closer inspection, the iPhone 5 here looks like a render in this pic. The home button is smaller than the one on the iPhone 4 to the left. So, unless they re-designed the home button to be smaller this generation, the 5 will be both taller and wider than it appears here.
I'm ok with this new design. It should also be wider, but it's ok the way it is. Especially in all black. Certainly better than it was.
I'm interested in how they're going to sell the added height.
I welcome this change. When I put my iphone into my back pocket, I have to dig fairly deeply to get it out.
I still use other apple products, but I dropped the iphone. This is Mac Forums, not iOS forums.![]()
is this still a controlled leak? hahahaha
Folks this is the phone. For those of you hoping for something else.....i think this is all you need.
Unless Apple introduce some seriously interesting hardware or new features, I just cannot see myself upgrading this year.
Clearly it makes more sense to have to invert the phone to make sure it's facing up every time you put it in your pocket. /s
Headphone jack on the bottom is the logical placement. The iPod touch had it right.
Except we'll get less content in landscape orientation. Fine for 16:9 video - as we all spend our days watching movies on the phone? But think about it, stretch a web page horizontally to fit and you'll lose vertical visible area. So it's only really useful for slightly more of your friends' inane Facebook comments showing... Should be wider too.
You can bet your ast dollar that apple hasnt taken a/v out. Will prob only be digital as apposed to last dock tho.
9 pins is USB 3--the dock is probably just a proprietary USB 3 connection. Apple will expect you to use AirPlay or Bluetooth.
