IT does look like there are little indentions in the back corners for a locking connector (like for hanging an iPhone around your neck on a lanyard).
I doubt there's much more than a USB2/3 connector would have with only 8/9 pins, so it's a shame they are sticking with a proprietary connector still. (I understand the business reason for it, but I still dislike it).
