For me, the weight is what makes the mini attractive. Make the full size ipad light enough and I won't need to buy a mini.

Yup. I want the best of both worlds. I won't buy a Mini because I like the larger screen on the iPad, but damn if I don't feel a little envious and covetous every time I pick one up.

If Apple can find a happy medium between the two, then I'll be thrilled.

...and if they add a stylus digitizer on there as an extra surprise, my head will probably blow up.

Holy Smokes! Sometimes I'm jealous of the people who get to experience an incredible performance/feature increase of multi-generation upgrades vs. us goofballs who upgrade constantly.

Going from a 1st gen to a 5th gen should be ... *magical*

Imagine the experience I had when going from a 1st gen MacBook to a SSD 16GB RAM MacMini last year.

However, I'm prolonging the white MacBook as it stills great for my scientific computing and LaTeX typesetting.

I believe it really is a personal choice regarding the size of the screens we use.

Some people are only happy with 80" Tvs than 55"

I personaly prefer the full size ipad and I use all kind of apps, however I look at my girlfriends really happy with the ipad mini.

games, drawing apps(concepts, procreate, paper, Sketches...), videos, music, Numbers(game balance numbers), Pages, Dropbox, Flipboard, Facetime...

I really surprised Apple hasn't switch to USB 3 lightning cables for the iPhone 5(S&C) and most likely won't with the next gen iPads.

That's something huge to want.

But isn't Apple want you to do all download/updates through wifi and icloud? I think the future is for stand-alone ipads - no pc needed. USB is only for connecting to pc's. I know once in a while you have to plugin and download your photos/docs when you don't automatically push them to cloud. But that's not Apple's envision - they are heavily investing/upgrading the wifi and LTE capabilitiies.

LTE is too expensive for doing much with large files like movies and TV shows, and downloading them by wifi requires staying put. Much better to do that by computer and then copy through iTunes.... especially if it's something you're going to want to see again later, because even the biggest iPads don't really have the storage to support much of that, and while it's good that you *can* re-download iTunes store purchases, why would anyone want to on a regular basis instead of storing them on a hard drive?

Why? We know what the iPad 5 will look like. There haven't been any surprises whatsoever since the introduction of the iPhone 4 3 years ago, and even then pictures of the final product still leaked out before the official announcement.

True, however I was more or less referring to the line-up of iOS devices...

And I think Apple was able to blow everyone away with the Mac Pro because they announced the product well before it's availability while it was still in prototype/pre-production phases.
