Shame they're not on the UK site, shipping from the US will no doubt be expensive PS style :D

I might go for this option, any good links to companies who do this?

Thanks!

Japantoy.biz i have several experiances wit them They have all been great

Edit: ill sell my copy for 55 dollar (solid black) including shipping from netherlands to europe if someone is interested, i just changed my mind to go the phantomskinz matte back/sides route. (Paypal) i can also show discogs/eBay feedback rating which is 100% positive.

Just picked up a clear jacket from the Burbank store. It's very nice! Word of caution, it's a bitch to get off so make sure there's no dust trapped in between iPhone and case the first time. I learned the hard way...

I got myself the solid black Air Jacket from the same store and I have to say I am very impressed. My other cases are the Diztronic TPU, SwitchEasy Tones, and noot case. The Air Jacket is closest in terms of fit/feel/shape to the noot case and these two are my favorite out of the bunch.

-It really feels like a precisely cut and engineered case from Japan. The TPU is firm but has a soft, rubbery feel to it. In contrast, the noot feels softer and more "malleable." The Air Jacket has a more rigid "backbone" while the noot can bend and fold with ease.
-It's very slim and lightweight, virtually equal to the noot. The frame of the noot is rounder while the Air Jacket has chamfered edges that matches the design of the iPhone 5. Thus, I prefer the shape of the Air Jacket as it looks like it blends more seamlessly with the phone.
-The noot has a slight shimmer to it when exposed to sunlight while the Air Jacket is 100% solid matte black. I really love the clean, logo-less look and the fact that the speaker hole cutouts line up perfectly with the phone. These were my only issues with the noot case, which in contrast is branded on the rear and doesn't have precise cut-outs for the speakers.
-The headphone jack cutout is compatible with my Klipsch earphones, which I can't say holds true for the SwitchEasy or noot.
-The cutouts for the sleep and volume buttons creates a recess so you have to use the tip of your finger or your nail to press them down. At first I didn't like this but after some time you get used to it.
-The case has no lip, but the shiny front chamfers of the iPhone is "mostly" hidden underneath the beveled edges of the case. It is still slightly exposed, but not nearly as bad as I originally thought it would be. So although it doesn't provide "maximum" coverage, when used in conjunction with a screen protector it'll prevent 98% of scratches/scuffs.

My main beefs with the case:
-Because it has no lip, there's about 0.1 - 0.2 mm of space where dust/dirt can potentially cram it's way through. It's probably wise to take the phone out of the case every so often to clean it out. This may become problematic down the line as it doesn't seem like this case is the easiest to remove.
-If you have exceptionally oily hands, it'll show on the case and will require some wiping down.
-Price. It is one of the most expensive TPU cases out there. Of course it does come with 2 high quality screen protectors to justify the higher amount, but for someone like me who doesn't need these screen shields, it turns out to be a waste.

I have to say if money is an issue, the noot should satisfy most people's needs out there and it even does some things better than the Air Jacket (slightly better coverage and drop protection.) I paid $2.99 for the noot (now $4.99 on amazon,) and more than 10 times that for the Air Jacket. In the end though, the Air Jacket is my personal favorite out of the bunch...but Power Support should really consider selling it by itself for $15 less. It's a very high quality case but at $40, it's a bit hard to recommend when there are cases out there that competes for much less.

Now for some eye candy. I also have a BodyGuardz Pure glass screen protector installed and the combination works really well. These images were taken with another iPhone 5, so they're not exactly professional grade quality.

If anyone already has the Slim case by Rearth then gets the PS solid black Air Jacket, please tell us which one you like better. I like my Rearth, but do wish it was more protected.

How does the Noot color match up? Are you able to take side by side pics? It seems like this case is closer to the color of the iphone?

They're essentially the same color, but the noot has a slight shimmer to it while the Air Jacket is completely matte black under light.

Does the case feel slick like another poster has stated?

Also does PS sell their cases in any retail store besides their own? I really don't want to pay 5 dollars for additional shipping costs. :/ Also any coupons?

The solid black and white versions are rubbery and not slick at all. Feels nice and solid in the hand.

These stores carry PS products but i'm guessing it'll take some time for the Air Jackets to appear at other locations since it just came out. I don't think PS does coupons but I could be wrong.

Hmmm interesting, I had the Belkin Shield Micra for iPhone 4 and was wondering if anyone knew if the clear cases felt similar to that one? I never had a problem with that being slippery. Good to know about the Black and white cases though. Still trying to decide.

And the store locator doesn't help me too much :/ NorCal.

Really want one of these but will cost the better part of £50-60 to get shipped to the UK are they available anywhere else?

Thanks

Regarding removal of the air jacket, there's a good pictorial instruction which shows both installation and removal. Removal starts on the BUTTON SIDE which is a little counter-intuitive. Once you figure it out it's not difficult (but not too easy, so it won't ever accidentally pop off).

After living with it for a week, I can say the clear is exceptionally scratch resistant (as much as can be expected for hard-coated polycarbonate) and highly protective. I loved these cases on my 3 and 4 series phones and this one steps up the fit and finish even more. The clear really shows off the original look of the white and silver phone- most people can't initially tell it's even in a case.

Did yours have the instruction sheet? Even if you can't read katakana, the pictures make it easy to understand.

Interesting that the USA Power Support price works out to about $4.00 + shipping more than the price at a Yodobashi store in Japan, where I bought mine for 2900 Yen. About $10.00 difference with the cheapest shipping solution. When you consider that you get both types of screen protector included that's pretty reasonable.

Fit with rear/side shields

Does this case fit with a rear screen protector or adhesive side protectors?

Anybody know?

hey floss, is that a button sticker? It looks like the cutout glass or is it the black button piece that comes with pure?

It's a home button protector from an SGP Ultra Crystal for the iPhone 4, I had one laying around. Makes the recess less apparent, although the Pure doesn't create a significant one to begin with. The Pure doesn't come with any home button stickers. I really wish they made glass home button protectors though...the difference in texture between the plastic and glass is pretty noticeable.

Yes, it did come with an instruction sheet (Japanese version with pics) also printed on the back of the packaging. I hadn't really paid attention at the time to removal process and pics. I was too excited to put it on the second I walked out of the PS store. :D
After I initially cleaned the surfaces of both case and iPhone and put it on I found I piece of lint that was trapped in the back so I wanted to get it out and was trying to remove case without scratching iPhone or damaging case. I walked back into PS store and had the girl do it. lol

I never tried it. I removed the my back protector just prior to slipping the PS case on phone. Based on my prior experience with my first crystal case (Moshi iGlaze XT), having the protector on the back did get in the way of that case fitting properly so I assumed the same would hold true for the PS Air Jacket.

The tolerance is so precise on the Air Jacket that I couldn't imagine you would be able to fit it with side protectors regardless but I can't answer that as I never had any there to begin with.

A rear protector might work...but I seriously doubt side protectors would. It's a really snug fit as it is.

Did you use a Gold Point Card at Yodabashi?

Did you have any issue with it on desks or anything like that when grabbing it out from your pocket? Slippery, etc?

Also, one more question, do you mind posting a few pictures of your phone with the case (it can't help to have more?)

Will try posting photos in the next day or so, but honestly, there are already good ones findable with a simple Google search.

Yes, the clear case is slick to the touch. Having used these for years I'm not bothered by this but if you want a grippy rubbery finish, go for a solid color. I'm not careless about where I put the phone, but in normal use (airline trays, desk at work) no problem. Anything abrasive (concrete, etc) will certainly scratch the clear case. Get a solid if this is a concern.

Just ordered the clear for my white 5. Been using a pad and quill wallet case. Wanna try this out to see if it scratches. I wanna go naked but I'm addicted to cases.
