The comment was made last year that the iPhone 7 Plus Had a "Fugly" camera bump, yet, others adjusted quite well and that comment ultimately faded away.

Let's hope they perfect the Touch ID sensor under the display.

You know they will. Apple always succeeds in hardware design.

If there was a rumor or indication of what this would look like, I believe it would be similar to this. I truly don't see Apple putting the touch ID on the back of the iPhone, I feel this would be more of what we're going to see come September. I can only imagine with the pre-orders are going to look like this year.

Pre-orders in the 30 million range.

No one sees a problem with the flash located behind a pice of glass in between the two lenses? I can't think of any good way to isolate the flash, even if it were entirely enclosed in a tube that touched the back of lens cover. I imagine the light would still make it's way onto the camera lens.
Is there a way to polarize the glass directly under the flash to eliminate that effect?

@Sunny1990. Since I've already explained this to you two different times, which you're still not grasping the concept reiterated to you. Read Amirhosseins post, it makes complete sense.

I think @Amirhossein stated in short exactly the main purpose of the iPhone 8 camera, which is to take great photo's and stop obsessing over a camera bump. If that's your main argument for the iPhone 8, then no, don't purchase it, so the rest of the iPhone users can appreciate truly take advantage of what the iPhone's capabilities are.

Apple will put Touch ID on the back because all you guys are gonna buy it anyway, and will need a "reason" to upgrade to the iPhone 9 when thy get rid of it.

Truth---Some can't handle it.

Is true they want us to upgrade frequently and sometimes hold back features to make future models more appealing, but putting touchID on the back would be a weird behaviour from Apple.
Move touchID on the back, then find a solution to embed it under the display and put it back to the front in a couple of years? They'd upset and confuse a lot of customers

Exactly. The iPhone still will sell strongly no matter where the Touch ID is placed. It's just a matter of griping and complaining about it for some, just as feel the need to complain about the orientation of the vertical camera and make silly, nonsense posts about how mad they are that it has a "Camera bump. " But you are correct, truth of the matter is, some just can't handle it.

How do you expect them to redesign the display and take away the home button area, and then still have touch ID, even though it's not under the screen? There aren't that many places to put it. They're certainly not putting it on the side.

i think the touch ID being on the back won't be too bad if it's where it is on the pixel...on the s8 Won't like that at all.

thats my only negative about the s8

Days after a claimed 3D design drawing of the upcoming "iPhone 8" appeared, frequent Weibo leaker KK has shared a different dimensional drawing and renderings showing a device that is somewhat smaller in size than the previous leak. The veracity of the new drawing can not be confirmed, but KK has on several occasions shared accurate details about previous devices.

iphone_8_kk_drawing.jpg

This new iPhone 8 leak shows a device that measures 137.54 mm tall by 67.54 mm wide, nearly identical to the iPhone 7's 138.3 mm x 67.1 mm body. The thickness of the iPhone 8 is not shown on the drawing.

According to the diagram, the iPhone 8's display measures 5.768 inches on the diagonal and will indeed cover nearly the entire front of the device. There appears to be only a 4 mm bezel around all four sides of the display, with over half of that being the 2.5D curved glass at the edges and the remainder appearing to be the device's frame around the sides.

The drawing shows a narrow earpiece at the top of the device's front, with various cameras, sensors, and other components on either side of the earpiece. Those components would likely include a front-facing camera, small microphone hole, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and the rumored 3D sensor.

All of these components appear to be embedded within the display area itself, and while the accompanying rendered mockups based on the drawing show the earpiece appearing as a physical slit within the display area, the camera and other sensors are not depicted and it is unclear how they would appear in reality.

iphone_8_kk_rendering.jpg

With the display filling the entire front of the device, there is no dedicated Home button and thus no visible Touch ID sensor. Apple has been rumored to be trying to build Touch ID into the iPhone's display, but the company has reportedly been struggling with perfecting the technology and thus could resort to putting the sensor on the rear of the device. One of the renderings shows the rear of the device with no obvious dedicated Touch ID sensor, although there is no corresponding dimensional drawing of the rear.

Notably, the rendering of the rear of the alleged iPhone 8 again shows a vertical dual camera, this time with the LED flash placed between the two cameras. As Ben Bajarin points out, the increased separation of the two lenses would help with augmented reality and 3D features, allowing for a greater difference in perspective.

iDrop News and Benjamin Geskin posted their own mockups showing a very similar design a few days ago, but it is unclear whether the two batches of renderings are based on the same original source information or if one set's creator was working from the other.

It is still early in the rumor cycle for detailed design leaks, so readers should continue to take information like this with a grain of salt until the information begin to solidify around a single specific design, but given KK's history of leaks this one is worth considering as a possibility.

Update: The drawing and renderings shared by KK appear to have originated on ifanr, and Geskin has confirmed his renderings are based on the same drawing.

Three holes on the aluminum case may compromise the IP68, no?

Turn it horizontal. Boom. Looks just like a camera and video recorder. Perfect for 3d video and AR.
Yea right, I will just hold it horizontal. Am I expected to make phone calls holding it horizontal too? Your comment is in my 2017 top 10 of wasteful comments. Congratulations.

When the horizontal dual camera first appeared, people were mocking it because it looked like Bender from Futurama.
Relax. You'll never even think about it once its been out a week.
You're wrong. I don't like the vertical camera design and I find it hideous. The rest of your tales of actually knowing what I want/like and what I think about and don't think about are inappropriate. Additionally me saying that I find a specific design aspect hideous does not make me unrelaxed.
[doublepost=1493243159][/doublepost]
Why is it any different than the current layout, beside orientation? You're supposed to take pictures/video in landscape format, not portrait (thanks selfies). Wouldn't it make more sense to have the sensors side by side for that orientation?
I didn't say anything about the questions you ask me. All I said was that I find the vertical camera design hideous. And that's really it.
