They keep bragging about being 1st...people want quality even if it takes more time to release. I never once thought going for a galaxy for the size alone.

I'm not really sure it matters if Samsung has a point or not, because it's a very uncomfortable ad to watch.

It's telling that Samsung sells more phones yet still feels a need to compare themselves to Apple.

I wish there were a good way for Apple to neutralize these ads without giving Samsung the time of day. Something like "some people feel the need to always compare, we just focus on making the best". Or "Some people consider us their competition, our only competition is mediocrity".

The truth is, you'd need a legitimate documentary to cover everything that Samsung actually has copied from Apple. Really, this is just a commercial to show how petty Samsung is, claiming to have originated the idea of mobile phones with screens far larger than the norm that had an initially mixed reception, when it was apple that made that move first.

The real kick is, they'll call out Apple while they, and everyone else knows that they aren't worth a quarter of a **** for Apple to respond to it.

Stay classy, Samsung.
You do it so well.

The next big thing is here...the iPhone 6 Plus! Seriously Samsung, I wouldn't advertise a product that isn't coming out until October as being the next big thing that's here.

hahha , funny ...... i hope apple press chief watch this video and ready for next iphone something much better than now ....

go go apple ... bring iphone 7 true iphone to the world ........

I'll say this as an apple fan: Samsung has a point. Apple has done nothing new with the new iPhone and what Samsung has done before.

Apple does not innovate anymore. But when they do something, they do it right. My friends laughed at me when I mentioned the iPhone 6 is getting NFC. But I guarentee I will use my phone to pay for stuff more before 2014 ends, then they have with Google wallet in the past 3 years.

I saw this on TV earlier today and thought it was kind of weird.

I wouldn't necessarily call it "attacking" rather than just kind of a tacky promotional approach. They didn't say anything negative about Apple as far as I really see, but at the same time I don't understand the idea behind this commercial and how it's going to draw anybody in?

The only marketing point that I see here is

"See? Apple did this after we did this, so our big screen thing IS cool!"

But the customer would need to respect Apple's decisions to be any kind of allured by that statement, and thus would most probably mean that that kind of person would be going for an iPhone?

"Apple is now having a large screen on their phones now, but we did it first, so you should buy ours!"

If anything, it's kind of a promotion to tell people that Apple has a competitor to their Note line.

A big screen isn't revolutionary or new or anything like that, but what's exciting about it is that it's coming to iPhone, and so we can use iOS on a larger phone. It's not the size of the phone, but it's the experience it gives you.

Blah blah blah... Samsung can pull these stupid ads all they want... Apple got my money for the 6 plus, and I'm very excited to get it... I hope I don't miss the stylus too much... ;)

I'm not fan of samsung but Apple tried very hard (and effectively) to brand Samsung as copy cats to the point that everyone in the non-tech press were calling Samsung a copy cat. Not saying Apple had no basis for those accusations but Samsung isn't in the wrong this time either. This is Apple's ugliness during the lawsuits blowing back at them.

But seriously I don't think the 'who got here first' is going to be relevant to consumers. All that really matters is what each phone can actually do. (I'm in the market for neither so I don't really care)

They spend a lot of money marketing to people who are a minority of consumers? Seems like you would have to follow things pretty closely to understand the point of this. All they can say is, we were first? They don't do a good job of stating why the phone is better except to say they have a stylus (which fewer people use it appears), and that they can multitask. But, they again don't really show why that feature is important in and of itself (multitasking). They need to be smarter with their ads.

Like they did in the I'm a Mac campaign?

Those ads were much more playful than this. i think the way Microsoft is doing the Cortana vs Siri ads is a much better comparison to the old mac vs pc ads. This ad isn't really playful and doesn't make me want what they are offering. The Cortana ads make me want Siri to be able to do those things.

Scared, aren't they?

That is exactly what I was going to say; they are trying to minimize the damage. They know they are going to lose a significant portion of market share and they have no way to offer anything else so they go on the attack. It's a basic principle of marketing/psychology/politics.

The worst of it for me was when they praised the Note for having a stylus while the iPhone Plus does not. We all know that if Apple did not introduce touch in 2007, we would have Google and Blackberry phones with styluses and keypads dominating the market to this day. Google's smartphone that was in development when the iPhone hit looked just like a mix between the Palm Pilot and Blackberry.

I find it pretty amazing that Samsung must have a room full of people sitting around waiting to pounce on every little thing Apple does. Apple could announce a phone with a built in transporter and 24 house later Samsung would have an advert out telling you that you don't really need to go anywhere anyway. Then two weeks later they would announce the Galaxy T. (for transporter) Amazing.

The ad is spot on. And yes the iPhone 6+ does look the Galaxy Note 2 from 2012 minus the stylus. I ordered iPhone 6+ because it reminded me so much of the Galaxy Note.:p
