I doubt a Mac Studio ultra would be released coz its just been 4-5 months. But would be interesting to see and speculate the specs of that from the M3 soc.

The Mac Studio needs the ultra to be ready. We can hope but it is doubtful it is given it usually trails the Max by 6 months.

In typical Apple fashion I expect that "something" will be released with M3; but it would be better if everything was updated, although it would make sense that the "Mac Pro" would not be, even though that is the machine that needs it the most.

I sure hope Apple has something up their sleeve, because in the GPU arena; nothing they have right now is fast compared to the competition. This is again discounting "power" being a major focus, in this arena it doesn't matter, only speed matters.

Oh and where are my W7xxx drivers for OS X so I can use the latest AMD GPU in my 2019 Mac Pro....hurumph!

Unless the size of the Pro chip and it’s heat shrunk with the M3 evolution (unlikely) or they increased the interior volume of of the 24” iMac chassis to accommodate a larger logic board/heat sink (also unlikely after just 3 years) an Mx Pro in a 24” iMac was never a possibility.
Eh, the 24" iMac isn't really any smaller internally than the volume available inside the 14" MBPs, and they're squeezing Max chips into that, with appropriate cooling of course.

If Apple wanted to put a Pro into the 24" iMac, I think the existing chassis could easily accommodate it.

Yeah, this is something that I find odd. There is absolutely no reason to not have an M1 Pro iMac at this point. The only reason I can think of is that there was no M1 Max/Pro at the time of its release. Maybe we will see an M3 Pro iMac next week.

A lot of M2 MacBook users right now:

Incorrect

You need to watch a tear down of both machines to understand. You cannot make assumptions just based on the outside of the chassis. Both are tightly packaged with no room available to expand the size of the motherboard. The 24” iMac motherboard is much smaller than a MBP 14” motherboard, in particular the width (see photos below). There is no space for a motherboard behind the iMac screen, it is just too thin (as compared to the Intel iMac) so the logic board has to reside in the chin. In the MBP the logic board is under the keyboard

Go for a 16"... sure the 14 is more portable, but so wished I had gotten the bigger screen.
Yes I know the 16 is awesome for home use, but after seen it several times in the Apple shop, I find it too big for traveling. I’m away once or twice a month and I prefer not even to bring my MacBook Pro 15 as I find it just on the edge of being to heavy.

Don't do it.

The best Macs ever made were 2011-2016. I'm still using my 2011 model even though my 2017 has long since failed and been junking and my 2020 (intel model) still runs much worse than the 2011. If the 2011 ever breaks, I'd look for a used pre-2016 model to replace it before buying new.
Maybe time for you to get a fast m1-m3 model 😉

Almost every color/config of the 15 Air is out of stock at each of my 12 local Apple Stores, with every single one of them getting them in on Nov 13th. Seems even the just-released 15 Air is getting the M3 update. Will be a nice clean lineup, especially if they nix the 13 “Pro” that shouldn’t exist anymore.
