I think they might have overcooked this one (pun intended).

AI is dying rapidly. Investors are pulling out because the promised gains aren’t materialising and the costs are not something we can engineer our way out of trivially as the promoters promised.

It’s another blockchain.

Market collapse by EOY is my bet. Then they will scale this down to improved Siri and some text review stuff and that’s it.

You are clearly looking at a very different market than i am. It is still growing.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear.

Well that’s good for my wallet then, I’m going to jump ship and use all these features on a pixel 9 pro next month because unlike Apple, Google didn’t hinge their bets on a stupid overpriced vanity project like Vision Pro and followed the market trend and what people actually find useful.

Knew this was coming, they said beta in summer but it’s not come and the 16 pro is 2 months away so no way was it coming this year.

Enjoy the marquee feature of an extra button for the 16 series.

They only announced this vapour software for the media, it’s not real and years off being released IMO.

Pathetic.

I turned 60 this year and realized that I’m not going to be living in the future. I doubt I ever get a personal robot, high speed rail, and a 120 year lifespan.
None of us currently alive will get the first and third, and we'll only get the second if we vote for politicians who actually care about investing in infrastructure.

There's no free lunch.

Yes it is growing. But the nature of the investment structure is changing. Most of the large capital providers, one of which I work for, are dumping because they made their gains early on. You’re just all buying them out of the market at the moment and paying for that gain and taking all the risk on.

“AI is dying rapidly.”

Any proof for this claim?

Much of the processing will be done on the device itself. What part of that is unsustainable and needs to be scaled back?

So first it wouldn't be available in the EU at launch in 2024, now it won't be available for anybody in 2024. So I guess we can expect it at launch in the EU as well now, in 2025.

Well, I'm glad all the cool Siri features announced at WWDC 2024 will finally be implemented before WWDC 2025.

Like... maybe a month or two before WWDC 2025. 🤪
It was obvious Apple was really caught of guard here. They had to announce something, it was very obvious when they said how only the latest iPhone would be able to run this making obsolete all previous iterations

You just knew artificial (yup, that's right, Apple; deal with it) intelligence was going to be used as leverage to sell new products. They want you to upgrade almost everything... and you know you will. You will bow down to your masters, and you will serve them well. lol

If AI is even half of what they say it'll be, it'll figure out cures for all diseases and be able to increase our lifespans by at least fifty years, if not longer. So don't loose hope!

Guess it’s likely that the whole world will get Apple Intelligence at release next year.
Wondering if the new look will be still available this year worldwide…including EU!

Yes. The investment companies are running away now. No one else has noticed yet.

As for the on device processing, there isn’t enough RAM or compute on even an iPhone 15 Pro to store a usefully sized model or run it which matches anything off device. Hence the cloud integration. Also your battery will be flat by time time you’ve finished your morning pee.

This ^^^

Everyone talking about it “being the future” is just buying the VC hype garbage — hook, line and sinker

And we made a hell of a lot of money out of it.

Now for the small investors to pay the losses out 😂
