Siri generates its responses in the Cloud anyway. Can anyone explain to me why the Apple Watch, the HomePod, and older devices cannot receive an answer from the 'new' Siri? Is Apple really keeping the dumb Siri around just for those devices? What is the point?
The 'dumb Siri' is for all, the 'smart Siri' will be subscription, of course!

I'm not interested in any of this from Apple anyway.

Ahahahahahahaha, is this also because of the EU?😂😂😂
Well there you have it, Apples statement about AI and the EU was nothing but their way of saying “We cannot even release it in the US this year, so we will use the DMA as an excuse since its a pain in our ass”

Well that happens if you forget to innovate apple…you had all the time to update Siri, it was crap to begin, but they didn’t care.

Just in time for making some exclusive feature for iPhone 17 owners in September 2025

Let Apple deserve the name premium again by offering real premium products! With enough RAM, battery life and state of the art tech inside. No more “Pro” in the name… let the products speak for themselves so I doesn’t have to defend me to friends why I’m using Apple.

If you care about specifications and technology inside the iPhone, I would argue you will never be a happy Apple customer. You should switch to Android and then you don't even have to defend your choice towards your friends.

Also, why should you be proud to own a mobile phone at all? Don't be proud. Just use the phone you like.

Screw all that other “AI” crap

Apple was so far behind, wanted to jump on the AI hype, but wasn’t capable of doing so.
People want several things that can be helped by AI. Photos and emails are part of that. Many people want Siri to be able to automate more functions. Those are the kinds of things that Apple is focusing on. They don’t consider a chatbot to be particularly useful and have not pursued that kind of AI. Apple’s AI is more focused on features that make it easier to use their phones and to do smaller things that people want.

its really hard to say that Apple is significantly behind in AI. They have been doing AI for years. Even Google is just now talking about putting AI on device. This will take a couple of years to settle out and for all of these systems to prove their worth.

That’s why they announced it at wwdc 2024. The public pressure was too high for them. Last minute collaboration with Open AI and the announcement the first version will come out in spring 2025 as a beta proofs to me they’ve just started.
