He's right. Vuze is just Azeureus rebranded. It runs via Java which is crap, as is any emulated cross-platform environment.

Stick with uTorrent or Transmission.

Huh. Well, it works just fine for me, so I'll stick with it. To each his own I guess.

^^ This. Stay away from Vuze. It's pure bloat. I've been using uTorrent recently (although I don't use torrents that much). I didn't like Transmission a few years ago though. Maybe it's better now?

Takes like two clicks to make Vuze act and look like the old Azureus interface. Yeah, the Vuze noob default interface is awful. As far as OSX there's no more powerful or configurable bittorrent client similar to Vuze.

I have tons of RAM, never had a problem with Vuze.

Transmission might be fine for simple users, but I like having more control. Just click ADVANCED interface for Vuze and you'll see that it's more powerful than Transmission.

I'm hoping that uTorrent for OSX will catch up with Vuze.

there you go, tons of RAM might be saving you ;)

does Vuze/Asurez have a web interface? i LOVE that about transmission - i type in my address from anywhere in the world and can instantly see a web based Transmission of my downloads. its great!

I've seen for PC that they have IP blockers. Is there any such thing for the mac? I'm not a fan of advertising who or where I am...

Peerguardian doesn't work anyway. People who install those have a false sense of security. The RIAA and MPAA simply surf from an anonymous AOL account.

Erm, I disagree. With the right election of blocklists, it helps a lot. I was slapped with a C&D letter a year ago, and ever since using PeerBlock I haven't received anything further (anecdotal evidence, sure, but it certainly makes me feel safe and that's what counts, right?).
