Same socket as far as I've seen
This should do the trick so long as you set it to 24 volts before plugging it in!

Does the adapter have a pin in the centre like the pic I posted above?

The eBay one is relisted and sold unfortunately
Know where I can find that? I also would have assumed the vga would have powered it as well since it almost splices from the same spot
You don't need to splice any wires for it. All you need is a power supply that is 24 volt of DC. The only adapter you need is a doubled ended female connector for the power. Nothing else.
Can you show me what parts you are referencing? Are you saying you could buy the power supply brick itself and a cable with double female connectors?
Just checked stores out here, none have anything like it and just got a smart answer of "why don't you just buy a new display?"
That does work. I've got 3 of these 15" displays, and the oldest one (dark blue) was setup to work with the PowerBook adapter. It works just fine with no heat and no screech. If you get desperate, you can sure do it, but I'd just wait and grab the original brick when one comes up on eBay. They do show up from time to time.Does this have any relevance?

Also, I picked up something from a 2007 thread at AppleFritters.com. Someone got one of these LCDs without the adapter. The cut the plug off the end of an iBook/PowerBook adapter (the yoyo type) (45W) and spliced in a female adapter they got from Radio Shack. Might be an option here? Presumably, you could just buy a new 45W brick and do the same?
reputable website? I have never heard of them myself
Wonderful, you have to ask the seller if they'd ship it to Canada...
