Does the adapter have a pin in the centre like the pic I posted above?

Did not think of that. I do have an idea, but it will need to wait until Tuesday when I can take a look. There is a ViewSonic monitor that regularly sells replacement parts that may have the same socket size.

Would you be so kind as to measure the size of the hole in the plug as well as with the metal included?

The third little connector on that display is ADB, not S-Video. I'd suggest getting a power brick with a male connector. Then mating the brick and display with a female-female cable or adapter. It'll work just as well and likely be cheaper.

Know where I can find that? I also would have assumed the vga would have powered it as well since it almost splices from the same spot

VGA doesn't carry the power to run a display. ADC (Apple Display Connector) does however. You would need to find an appropriate adapter and splice the wires onto it.

You don't need to splice any wires for it. All you need is a power supply that is 24 volt of DC. The only adapter you need is a doubled ended female connector for the power. Nothing else.

Can you show me what parts you are referencing? Are you saying you could buy the power supply brick itself and a cable with double female connectors?

The power supply is a standard 24 volt DC one. I don't recall the amps. From that you could make or buy an adapter to fit the display's male power cord.

Just checked stores out here, none have anything like it and just got a smart answer of "why don't you just buy a new display?"

Does this have any relevance?

Also, I picked up something from a 2007 thread at AppleFritters.com. Someone got one of these LCDs without the adapter. The cut the plug off the end of an iBook/PowerBook adapter (the yoyo type) (45W) and spliced in a female adapter they got from Radio Shack. Might be an option here? Presumably, you could just buy a new 45W brick and do the same?
That does work. I've got 3 of these 15" displays, and the oldest one (dark blue) was setup to work with the PowerBook adapter. It works just fine with no heat and no screech. If you get desperate, you can sure do it, but I'd just wait and grab the original brick when one comes up on eBay. They do show up from time to time.

Wonderful, you have to ask the seller if they'd ship it to Canada...

That is a great display, VGA, S-video, and composite. I have one I bought in '99 or so from the CDW outlet. It looks like just the casing is cracked on that PS, I would press the cord in place and fill the void with silicone and wrap it tightly with tape. I would be concerned if the line power cable was damaged.

Looked inside and some of the wiring was also exposed. Not sure it'd be safe just to close it up.
