QuarterSwede are you using v2.0.59? I tried it and I only get option for Bluetooth and USB but no wifi option.
I'm on a old bootrom 3GS at 4.3 jb.

You did say you were on 4.3 ATT right?

The Personal Hotspot is not available on anything but the iPhone 4. I'm sure eventually someone will come up with a hack to installed it, but for now I don't think it's even enabled in the firmware on the 3GS.

There is an option in the settings to enable the Hotspot feature by contacting your provider. It's not the same option to enable tethering that the previous firmwares had.

Yes, but is that for the 3GS? All of the press releases I saw said that the iPhone 4 would have it. No sweat for me, I'm still using MyWi.

at&t and BB 3.10.01

I also thought Personal Hotspot was for the iPhone 4 only.

Fair enough about games on cell phone wifi. Where can I find the tethered 4.3 jailbreak? I've had no major problems with tethered JB except for one app. But, I don't have to use that app anymore.

I've been using MyWi for some time now and my main complaint (other than WEP security) is the inability to add a SBSettings toggle for it. I hate having to go into the app and turning on the WIFI tethering.

Does TetherMe have an option or tweak allowing you to quickly turn it on/off with a toggle (preferably in SBSettings)?

EDIT: Never mind, I found the SBSettings Tethering Toggle.

However, I'm having a problem with TetherMe on my Verizon iPhone. When I turn on Hotspot and connect, it shows the blue bar at the top of my phone saying I have a connection. And when I connect my iPad, it shows the double circles icon showing it is connected to the hotspot. HOWEVER, when I turn HotSpot off, my iPad still stays connected even though my phone shows that it is off! I can still surf the web and everything on my iPad and it still shows the double circles. And no, it's not a 3G iPad and no, it's not connecting to another WIFI.

So it appears that I cannot turn the HotSpot feature off and have it disconnect my other device(s)... or am I missing something?

Thanks!

It allows you to use Personal Hotspot (Apple's native tethering) without having to pay a carrier for tethering (if your carrier charges for it). Personal Hotspot allows the iPhone to be a wifi hotspot (router), BT or USB tether. at&t is saying you can tether 3 devices at a time on wifi but there is some speculation as to whether USB and BT count as one each because Apple was saying 5 at a time.

Yes. Wifi tethering on the iPhone is in infrastructure mode which means ANY wifi enabled device can connect to it. It shows up like any other wifi router.
I'm extremely late, but wanted to say thanks.
