I think just speed bump,....
Jumped from 2.0 > 2.13 & Hard drive from 120GB > 160GB. Good spotting!
so I no longer have the NEW macbook. That didn't last long.
where? see nothing on the apple store...
Looks like its only the U.S. Apple Store that has got the upgrade.
New Zealand Apple store doesn't have it either...
500GB HDD option, finallly. Quite expensive though.
Back to school has started as well. And presumably we can expect new iPods mid september...
Strange update, although yeah its not changed on the New Zealand store.
...and it now "officially" supports 800 Mhz RAM
...can't wait for these to hit the refurb store unless the base PX sells the 2.0 Ghz model on "close out"...
Weird. Why I wonder?
also the battery life has been extended to 5 hours like it is with the unibody.
...getting ready for back to school promos and to make it different than the mac mini (and re-branding rumors)...
It was always 5 hours, has been for years.
Makes sense to me.
It hasn't been changed on the Belgian Apple Store as well.
Pretty odd, if you ask me ...
We've had a few of these silent upgrades in the past. They first show up only in the US Apple Store and the rest of us get updated overnight.
thats not what it says on for the previous nvidia white macbook on the uk store.
white macbook - Up to 4.5 hours of wireless productivity
unibody macbook - Up to 5 hours of wireless productivity"
Excellent! Was planning on buying one in about a month anyway!
Seems that the white MB is a real alternative to the unibody now. Maybe apple will make a bigger deal of updating others at WWDC but, as many have said, that is usually software heavy.
Waiting for the UK store to show the update...
Why spend $300 more for the 2.0GHz unibody MacBook vs the updated 2.0GHz white Macbook? For 200 grams more, with a TFT vs backlit LED screen, you even get a FW port.
They're still calling the current unibody 13" Macbook new on the site, but maybe they'll bump the curent uMB. The site has the buy a Mac for college promo.
White MB = 55-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery
13" uMB = 45W
15" MBP = Removable 50W hr
17" MBP = Built-in 95W hr
Is it a P7450 processor?
WTF apple? you make the old one faster than your new unibody one!!
Could it be a slip-up before later on where they update everything?
i think the logo you're referring to is on the mainpage over the macbook family, but if you click on it, the "New" Tag is only on the white macbook right now (not the unibodies)
also, was the gpu upgraded to 9400m?
and, 500gb option on the white but not unibodies?
Yes but that was the early 2009(february If I remember correctly) update
I think everybody should be sorry now, when they questioned few guys who started thread about an expected update on the 27th. Particularly a guy "newbie" who started a thread few days ago, saying that he heard from somebody who works in an apple store that a surprise product is coming on the 27th, and i recall he said "if iphone upgrade is a valentine, the surprise upgrade is Christmas". Thanks newbie for the info
That must have happened in January then when they went to the Nvidia chipset, because mine is 5 hours.
