I admit that I do envy the little nit picky things Android and Windows offer like more customization and SD cards and so on. But at the end of the day I want a really good battery and experience culminated in beautifully crafted hardware. Sorry, Windows/Android, but you just don't have that. :p

Lets enjoy 2013 for what it is ...the last year that Apple held the reins.

There's only so long you can get away with churning basically the same old stuff for and Apples rehashed products, the terrible Lightning Connector, the Mac Pro Dustbin and the dull as dishwater IOS 7.0 shows that maybe life without Steve isn't the same after all.
It was good. While it lasted.
Curse you and your complacency New Apple!

Funny ad. It's Microsoft's attempt to sell more Windows Tablet's =P, unfortunately Windows 8 & RT tablets pretty much been a failure.

Personally I like Windows 8 Tablets, but still prefer Android & iOS.

I like how they say windows poking fun at ipad.. it was a DELL product that runs on windows, which would indicate that DELL went ahead with the advert on the basis that windows logo must be included for advertising purposing to boost W8 Sales.

anyway what does apple care? windows are the ones that funded them...

Question:

If you have a tablet with expandable storage... how exactly does it handle files?

Let's say you have a MicroSD card with a bunch of MP3s on it... will the Music app scan the card and show those MP3s mixed in the the songs on the internal storage? Or do you have to go hunt for them?

Same question for photos and videos, too.

It actually sounds like a good idea to buy an entry level tablet and then add a huge MicroSD card later... but it also seems like it would add a bunch of complexity for the user.

Most people don't understand proper file and folder structure on their computer as it is... :D

WTF? Why are they comparing 32gb iPad with 32gb Dell tablet, when it is known that WindowsRT + add-ons take up half of the space, whereas iOS takes up only 2gb?

They should have compared the 16gb iPad ($499) with the regular-priced Dell tablet (it says under the price "limited time offer") so it would probably be the same price (it's just a guess).

Judge says when Apple takes Microsoft to the court and shows Microsoft misrepresented price-points: Ouch, that's not cool.

Indeed. Just keep selling 16GB for $100. Thanks :apple:.

Yes... going from 16GB to 32GB will cost you $100.

But you're actually doubling the capacity for each $100 step.

16GB to 64GB only costs $200 to quadruple capacity.

16GB to 128GB only costs $300 to octuple the capacity!

Don't most cameras use full-sized SD cards, not the smaller one shown here? At least all of the ones I've seen do. You can just use an adaptor if you really want that. I'd really want the SD card to be the iPad's internal storage so you can upgrade.

Yes its true, pro cameras wouldn't work with the Windows device here. I don't see the point in Apple adding an SD card slot because it would only be useful if they supported pro cameras and raw photos off them - paps would love it! However there isn't room for this size of card in the iPad so you'd have a micro sd slot like this instead - which would leave photographers still using the USB adapter, which to be honest - does it make any difference?

Ive got an SD adapter on my rMBP, my Mac Mini and my iMac and I've been racking my brains trying to find a use for them - when you've got Airdrop, networking round the home and to be honest, really cheap 32gb USB 3 sticks, they seem a bit pointless...

Can't tell if serious or not.

Doubling does not mean much until the numbers get larger, one can also go from 1GB to 2GB and that means nothing.

The bit they don't tell you

"Oh windows RT, the system that literally no one has, no one develops for and MS will likely ditch support for within 12 months"

"That's not cool"

This does bring up.. what IS Apple doing for multitasking? Nothing. You would think they would offer some kind of multi app view on the iPad.

This has to be the worst ad ive ever seen. Oh you can zoom the start page wow so cool. And who the hell actually uses an SD card still? Only about a million other ways to store and transfer things

Who? Everyone in the world not using an apple product. Next question.

funny, but ipad still sells better

you know, quality always beats quantity. i've also recently bought a surface pro and i love it, there are a lot things which i enjoy on the surface pro but could only imagine of doing those things on my ipad, i think microsoft has done a terrific job with the windows 8 products and their marketing campaign is also doing the right thing by comparing the ipad with the windows 8 tablets so that people can see what's better for them, which things has more features, more portability, more options, etc. it's quality that matters not quantity!

What's wrong with the new Xbox?

From the design to the complete alienation of xbox gamers, and the price, everything.

----------

This is what everyone says in regards to needing features, add an external or a dongle when people just want it built in.

Meh it's Apple. People bitch and moan and yet end up buying the product anyway.

Speaking of quality, how's that 4 hr battery life doing? Not trying to be mean here I'm actually asking.
