Lets enjoy 2013 for what it is ...the last year that Apple held the reins.

There's only so long you can get away with churning basically the same old stuff for and Apples rehashed products, the terrible Lightning Connector, the Mac Pro Dustbin and the dull as dishwater IOS 7.0 shows that maybe life without Steve isn't the same after all.
It was good. While it lasted.
Curse you and your complacency New Apple!

Yawn...

That's your opinion. Others are perfectly fine with their products and don't expect something new biweekly.

From the design to the complete alienation of xbox gamers, and the price, everything.

Well, you do know that Kinect is included in every Xbox purchase, right? Plus, for a device that has a cycle of almost 7-8 years, alienation is a given. What did you expect?

Honestly, only problem I see with the new Xbox is the limited availability. (And that's unfortunately Microsoft way to do things) Again, I'm writing from a county that is not supported. But this doesn't change the fact that Xbox One is a great hardware. And whatever you say, it will kill PS4.

Wow fanboyism at its finest. Have you looked at the specs. Notice the ps4 has ddr5 RAM, which is said to be more helpful for developers than ddr3, otherwise everything is exactly the same right down to the gpu. Of course ps4 doesn't have those pesky game borrowing limitations. Also you have to have an internet connection even if you're only planning on playing off-line games. Why? But, no, good to know I'll have an always on spy cam in the living room. It looks like you can do anything on it but actually game properly.

Doesn't mean they will not rape it with latter firmware updates just like they did with PS3.

Very tasteless ad. Saw this at the movies a couple of times already.

Yeah, this is exactly what Apple did with that "I'm a Mac" "I'm a PC" ads.

Fair is fair, and I love the fanboy flames in this thread thus far.

This add and the Asus one before it totally shows what's wrong with the iPad currently. When it debuted, sure it was the only device in it's class worth looking at.

And since the first iPad... we've gotten retina displays, processor boosts, and forget the design changes.... tablets only look so different.

Apple is slipping behind like it did in the 80's. iPad is losing market share... it kind of needs to be something more than an over sized iPhone/iPod touch in the future to stay relevant.

To those still citing "it's still the best selling tablet" well yes, model per model it is... but that number is declining. However, marketshare in tablet category is going down down down.

I love this ad. If I didn't hate windows 8, I'd be all over a windows 8 tablet, especially for the specs, price, and functionality.

Honestly I'm not thrilled about any of the next gen. consoles. I won't be buying anything until prob. 3 years after initial release when things get much cheaper.

I like how they say windows poking fun at ipad.. it was a DELL product that runs on windows, which would indicate that DELL went ahead with the advert on the basis that windows logo must be included for advertising purposing to boost W8 Sales.

anyway what does apple care? windows are the ones that funded them...

Wow, that's an interesting revisionist history.

you know, quality always beats quantity. i've also recently bought a surface pro and i love it, there are a lot things which i enjoy on the surface pro but could only imagine of doing those things on my ipad, i think microsoft has done a terrific job with the windows 8 products and their marketing campaign is also doing the right thing by comparing the ipad with the windows 8 tablets so that people can see what's better for them, which things has more features, more portability, more options, etc. it's quality that matters not quantity!

Can't tell if you're serious. Apple has always been known for being expensive, but high quality.. Dell has been known for being cheap, but well... cheap. If you're trying to convince people here (or anywhere) that now Dell is the company putting out elitist premium quality hardware & Apple is pumping out junk.. you've got a rough road ahead..

DDR3 or DDR5. Didn't you Apple fanboys use to say "specs don't matter"? And helping developers couldn't be done better than using the billion-user Windows core, right?

Well, always on internet connection might not be the best news but they need to battle piracy.

Why are you bringing Apple fanboyism into this. First of all, I never personally made a claim stating I believed specs don't matter. This has nothing to do with Apple period. I'm comparing a product made my microsoft with a product made by sony and I see no evidence to suggest that the xbox will be more powerful or any better than the ps4, worse in fact considering all the restrictions.

SD card is the only legitimate thing Microsoft says. Then again, when a 64GB tablet comes with 20-something GB on a freshly installed tablet, that says a lot for Microsoft's bloated inefficiency.

When I do a Windows installation on a virtual machine or something, it's around 6gb to 7gb big. When I would reformat my Mac a few years ago, it was something like 15 to 20GB or even more. Which was killing me.

Apple sells an SD Card reader for the ipad. Problem solved.

No, that doesn't solve the problem.

----------

Ehm, as far as I know you can't use that for upgrading the storage. Poster's problem not solved...

Right. Even if it could work, you'd have to walk around with that thing dangling off. I've been there and done that with my MacBook booting off a portable external hard drive.

I left the Microsoft / Windows world about 10 years ago and intend to never re-enter it. I can understand their adverts, the less than lukewarm reception of the Surface and Windows 8 must hurt. I love my Apple products (not without criticism), and their ad won't change that a bit. So, I am not angry with them.
I am just disappointed, and not because they let the viewers of the ad down, but they let themselves down.
Aww

WOW!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. How on earth can you use Apple products?? Seriously, Apple products tend to be behind in specs and locked down. Cool argument bro if you were a Android fanboy, though given your username and comments on here, really???

And BTW, if you do not understand why alot of modern games have internet connection, your not a gamer, so I would recommend staying way from that topic, good news is Apple's gaming solution is perfect for you ;)

You accused another poster of Fanboyism...... your on Macrumors, on a thread where Microsoft is coping it for a parody ad from Apple fans, your username is Appleisking....., your had a go at the new xbox for having crap specs..... are the dots joining there for you bud??

Let me give you a hint, if your username was SonyisKing, your might have a case here

The only apple product I use is a macbook pro which is neither low specced (at least not when I bought it) nor locked down. Modern games have internet connections only for the purposes of online multiplayer. If I want to buy a single player only open world game that doesn't have online multiplayer why am I forced to still be connected to the internet? No, I am not a gamer but I'm sure many gamers agree with me. Second, never did I say the xbox has crappy specs. I said the xbox and ps3 has almsot the exact same specs so why would the other poster claim xbox is better. I was mostly having a go at xbox for the mandatory kinect and DRM policies.

Can't tell if serious or not.

Doubling does not mean much until the numbers get larger, one can also go from 1GB to 2GB and that means nothing.

All I was saying is it's not $100 per 16GB like the previous person said.

For $300 extra you actually end up with a 128GB iPad.

You are correct though... 1GB to 2GB is nothing... good thing Apple doesn't charge $100 for that!

Apple usually does the "$100 to double" pricing scheme. And sometimes it's more than doubling.

Remember when the iPod Touch used to start at $199 for 8GB... but for only $100 more you got 32GB?

You'd be silly not to pay the extra $100 to get 4 times the storage in that situation. And that's why Apple prices things like that.

Well said. :) The guy is clearly a Microsoft hater with no valid arguments.
