Well, some (many) would loose their heads unless heads were glued to their body.

I use the ES3 silicon covers from earskinz, keeps my AirPods firmly in my ears. The only negative is you have to take them off when charging.

"Apple analyst Gene Munster admitted that he has apparently lost 10 pairs of AirPods"
In this case, why did not he switch to different earbuds after losing, say, third or fourth pair? Do Apple analysts have to use Apple gear or something?
Well, maybe being a special Apple “friend”, he has the unofficial AppleCare+ + which replaces his AirPods every time he loses it complimentary. Because you would think that even a rich dude would get sick and tired of handing over money to Apple because of carelessness.

I don’t about that statement to say as far as saying that the ‘fit isn’t that good’, as the article indicated, the majority of the AirPods that were being lost, was during the summertime with heat/humidity, when there’s moisture in someone’s ears, they can slip out. Keep in mind, Apple sells millions of AirPods, and the majority probably are never returned for poor fitment.
Yeah, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s enough people out there who can’t purchase AirPods because of a poor fit to warrant research on a new, more flexible design that to some extent can be “customized” to fit those people (with different size inserts like what Sony is doing).

Their small, Their tiny, and you can loose them

Perfect mix. Making then bigger won't help....

People drop just about anything on the tracks.

So many AirPods have been lost in New York City subway tracks in recent months that the MTA is considering initiating a public service announcement urging commuters to refrain from taking AirPods on or off while entering or exiting trains, a spokesperson for the transit agency told The Wall Street Journal.

Ashley Mayer recovered her AirPods with a broom and duct tape

The PSA would hopefully alleviate the delays caused by the numerous AirPods that fall between the cracks each day:While the location of AirPods can be tracked using the Find My iPhone app, the earphones often become trapped in hard-to-reach places due to their small size. This led The Wall Street Journal to highlight the extravagant measures that some customers have taken to recover their lost AirPods:In an extreme case, well-known Apple analyst Gene Munster admitted that he has apparently lost 10 pairs of AirPods.

Apple charges $69 for a replacement AirPod in the United States, totaling $138 for a pair. Replacement charging cases are also available for $59, while the wireless AirPods charging case is sold separately for $79.

Just go to Amazon and find those strings that connects them them around the neck.

I've thought about that when I bought mine and my wife's, but than again the beauty of the design is that one just pops in and out of the case without dealing with strings or wires. That's the all point isn't it?

The solution fot this can only be, ear implants :)

I’ve been a day 1 owner, never lost an AirPod. You have to be careful.

Same. I can count on one hand where I’ve even dropped one of them, which for me would be the only chance to lose one. I’m not even that careful. Their rather unique shape makes them easy to hold onto.

When I’m at a store and need to take them out for a moment, I tuck them onto the band of my Apple Watch.

I’ll never go back to wired headphones.

OK, if my AirPod look anything like that after retrieving it from a subway track, I would just cut my losses and purchase new AirPods. That’s pretty disgusting, even more so what is stuck next to the AirPod on the tape.

Ever heard of cleaning things instead of throwing them away?
Looks like you spent to much time with computers when a little dirt is “disgusting” to you.
Rich white folks....the world’s biggest threat.

I don’t think you have any clue what are in New York subways. Hint: it’s not just dirt

I wonder how many NY rats are running around with an AirPod, or even a pair of their own.

I'm suddenly imagining a pack of rats hanging out at the corner chilling to some Jay-Z, Drake, or Kendrick, all with low-riding jeans and a pound of gold chains hanging on their necks. Meanwhile, the rats in business suits are walking by looking like they are talking to themselves while nervously looking at the other rats and hoping that their gold watches don't get stolen...

I seriously need to sleep more...

No announcements can save this person, but medication could have benefits.

It's Gene Munster.
Medications may not be adequate.

This man has issues. Either that or way too much money to care. Probably both.

I wear my AirPods 4-8 hours per day, including around the track for an hour. I have really large ear canals that don't hold them, so I bought special dermal adhesive strips that keep them firmly in my ears. Definitely worth a few bucks and I only have to change them out every couple weeks. They fit in the charging case fine. I've never lost any, and I've had them since launch.

You don't get yours cheap/free from Apple.

I'll tell you what. As nasty as the subways are in NYC, and especially on the tracks where rats are often seen scurrying about, if I lost a pair of AirPods the MTA can keep 'em. I'd never put them in my ears again.

I'm confused by this comment. Are you suggesting that he gets his AirPods free from Apple? I thought they hate him because he spoils all of their surprises.

It’s a New York thing. If you aren’t from a city that moves millions of people before 6am - you can’t understand nor comprehend the scale.
Living here has been a humbling yet fascinating experience. One I didn’t appreciate nor experience as a tourist that drops by for a weekend frolic.

Strange. I’ve had the first lens since a few months after launch and I’ve yet to lose them.

Not sure how people lose so them
