I agree, this show is awesome, but I expected Admiral Cain to look more like Lloyd Bridges.
Anyway, I only noticed this on the last episode so I'm not sure if I imagining it, but does the number of survivors in the opening credits change in each episode as they die/are found? I could swear the number was smaller in episode 2.09, which of course was before the Pegasus showed up. Can anyone with the series recorded confirm this?

In New Zealand they started it off with the 'rebuilt' moive and the continued with the mini series. The last episode that wasa screened was when Gaius goes with the soldiers down onto a planet. Ending with the the Blonde cylon and Gaius looking down at a baby.
Is this the end of the whole mini series or just season one, or what?

Some of the editing of action sequence, such as in 209 seem pretty haphazard and the sense of excitement artificial. I think this has to do with the sound effects and scoring. The camera work is pretty off-puting, but overall, I like the storyline and so I watch BSG for that reason. The cliffhanger of 210 was great though.

But to each his own
Actually, only noobs call it sci-fi. The correct term is SF.Piarco75 said:Have you actually seen the new BSG or are you just generalising about sci-fi (yes there is a "c" in there)? It'd be nice I you validated your opinion...
Hmmmm.... noob to what exactly? If I've been watching sci-fi (and I think I'll stick with that, thanks) for the best part of 20 years, what exactly am I new to? And who dictates the terminology?plinden said:Actually, only noobs call it sci-fi. The correct term is SF.
Ah, by that very comment you place yourself firmly as a noob.Piarco75 said:Hmmmm.... noob to what exactly? If I've been watching sci-fi (and I think I'll stick with that, thanks) for the best part of 20 years, what exactly am I new to? And who dictates the terminology?
BTW, my comment was a nonserious offhand comment - but there are people who get very heated about what to use: SF = hardcore Science Fiction, Sci Fi = the Sci Fi channel. Two competing abbreviations for "science fiction" are in common usage: "SF" (or "S.F.") is the term most commonly used by science fiction writers and serious fans. This is also the preferred usage in the U.K.. The euphonic "sci-fi", coined by Forrest J Ackerman in 1954, has grown tremendously in popularity and is today, by far, the more common term used in the popular press (although many a science fiction writer has been known to wince at its usage, in part because the referent "hi fi" is no longer in current use). For many years hardcore sf fans scorned "sci fi", but now, thanks largely to the Sci Fi Channel, the battle is lost, and sci fi is the abbreviation most likely to be understood.
I'm sure you're not. You're just remarkably easy to wind up.Piarco75 said:Well I definately wouldn't describe myself as a noob

Then there are the fans of Scientifiction.
I use either depending on who I'm talking to.

(ah not giving human characteristics to something that may or may not deserve them is fun)
I can't wait for January to come around, and also for season 2 to come out on DVD
EDIT: oh btw don't worry about the people that bitch about SF or sci-fi, if you are an intelligent person you will realize that if you say SF to almost anyone else they will say "what?" however if you say sci-fi, they will understand you. So if you are the type of person that loves repeating yourself over and over again to hundreds of people then by all means say SF, but if you actually care to make conversation with someone without trying to show you are "above them" so to speak then use sci-fi

"Battle stations. Battle stations. Colonial vipers moving in." Say that while speaking into a fan.Piarco75 said:Really? The original series or the new one? I'll always have a special place in my heart for the original ( I have a Viper and a Cylon Raider as a kid!) but the new series is just unbelieveably good...
