Dah........you joking right.
Alway expect Apple to help in reducing fat wallet syndrome.

Apple sorta like eating at airport. You might find better meal, but you won’t pay more.

Jump the gun much? :D

Haha I had to! I wanted to make sure I got the most I could for it ($600). Once the new ones come out, they drop considerably. Happens every year.

This event tomorrow should be quite interesting.

We have a good idea about iPad Pro, but seeing it in action will be nice. And all the rumours about refreshed iMacs, new Mac mini, new MacBooks but not having any idea at all what they’ll look like will be a nice surprise too.

So I’m still using an original iPad Air, bought on launch. Owned every iPad up to this one and kept her.

Still monster battery life, and browses almost as quickly as any iPad can.

Lags with almost anything else lol..

I was curious how long I had this thing cause she’s been great to me.

So I asked Siri from my iPhone X and got a typical Siri lazy like response. Thanks Siri!

So long as the whole family can register their FaceID's i'm okay with no home button...

Let's see if they support FaceID for multiple people on the iPad. On iPhone you can have two of them, so you can add your significant other but that's it.
By the way I think iPad needs multiple users support. I've been asking for that feature ever since the iPad hit the market, they can't expect a family to have multiple iPads or to share the accounts on it.
We have only one iPad and I set my wife's iCloud account on it so I don't have continuity on it, I basically use the iPad only to open Safari and read some stuff while I'd put my work emails there and iMessage if I could have multiple accounts.
I sometimes use my Macbook pro even if I could do the same task on the iPad as I don't have my accounts there. And I'm not buying a second iPad, it isn't worthwhile.

A newly discovered icon in iOS 12 appears to confirm recent rumors surrounding Apple's redesigned iPad Pro, which is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday.

Similar to a previous icon found in iOS 12 beta 5, the new icon discovered by 9to5Mac's Guilherme Rambo features a tablet with slimmer bezels and no Home button, and more importantly, no notch.

ipadpro2018-ios-12-icon-800x400.jpg

A recent case maker's rendering of the upcoming iPad Pro displayed many of the same design elements shown in the icon, including the rounded corners and a small top and bottom bezel, with the top bezel housing the TrueDepth camera system for Face ID.

Dimensions sourced from the same case maker indicate the smaller iPad Pro will be 7 inches wide and 9.7 inches tall, while the larger model will be 8.5 inches wide and 11 inches tall.

Icon elements aren't always proportional relative to the physical dimensions they represent, but the way the iPad Pro's bezels are drawn suggests Apple has also left plenty of room for holding the device without unintentionally triggering the touchscreen.

The new iPad Pro models are said to be equipped with an A12X Bionic processor that's even faster than the A12 chip in the new iPhone lineup, with a USB-C connector potentially replacing the Lightning port, and a new version of Face ID that works in both portrait and landscape orientation.

The new iPad Pro devices are expected to be announced at Apple's second fall 2018 event, set to be held on Tuesday, October 30 in New York City at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

Apple is planning to live stream the event on its website and through the Events app on the Apple TV, but for those unable to watch, MacRumors will have live coverage both here on MacRumors.com and on our MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

How to hold a 1 pound tablet the size of a head with one hand and swipe up with the other hand? Isn't a button an improvement? You can push the button with the thumb and hold the iPad with the same hand. Maybe if they invent a thumb up-swipe.

If they don't have multiple face support, I foresee this becoming the device most likely to have security altogether disabled in the whole lineup. If they're serious about the iPad Pro as a replacement for a computer, they need to get proper multiuser support in order, not just multiple face support.

I wouldn't expect any changes in this area until iOS 13. Only a possibility then too. I am not sure the lack of multi-user support prevents it from being a replacement for a typical computer though, as it already is for some people today.

Not all surprises are nice...

What if the surprise is that there's no updated Mac Mini after all?

Oh I know. I try not to get my hopes up at all for any of these events. So easy to get excited and think about all the possibilities, but in the end it usually results in disappointment or a sense of underwhelming.

Form over function. Glad I bought the 2017 10.5 inch iPad!
Yeah my 10.5 is still working like a champ. If it isn’t that much for the new one. I’ll order it. But usually the new products are ridiculously priced. So I’ll keep my 10.5 a little while longer.

yeah, still on my iPad air as well. thing has been fantastic from a longevity and quality standpoint.

Unfortunately same can't be said for software. iOS11 nearly broke the thing. iOS12 is much better, but still have some serious load times on a lot of apps. I attribute this to the aenemic memory. Something Apple tends to do all the time.

iOS12 has made it bearable, but looking forward to see what's coming next. 25seconds for Slack to open and be usable is pretty bad (but down from 40s on iOS11).

I still basically use the thinnest of apps out there because anything modern and fancy brings this thing to a screeching standstill.

I expect the diamond cut design of the iPhone SE with this iPad. No protruding camera and this design is a winner.

It could be the foundation for a new 4 inch premium iPhone for customers, who don’t want phablets.

I don’t see why Apple is still stuck on having to hold the device gingerly on its bezels to avoid erroneous touchscreen input. Bettertouchtool showed us how easy it is to have the software ignore touch inputs outside of a defined area. If the iPad can see there is content being displayed and a finger making gestures in the middle of the screen interacting with it, why are the far edges of the screen, that have two static finger spots not moving for long periods of time, being taken as second & third inputs that only result in cancelling out the first? I thought they had been doing this from the start, but clearly not.

I’d like to find one with iOS10 on it yet. The multitasking was actually useful. Unfortunately the first thing everyone does when they go to sell one is update it.
