I don’t see why anyone would complain about the bezels here. A huge device like the iPad Pro would look ridiculous with a notch and/or chin (I think @AngerDanger made a mockup), and it’s not like the iPhone has completely eliminated the bezel, either.

It actually looks a bit like a Surface. And the Surface line looks great.

Isn't it going to be very hard to properly hold this new iPad with those small bezels?
That's why they're probably making it more of a square design, like the iPhone 5, rather than whatever it previously was.

If they don't have multiple face support, I foresee this becoming the device most likely to have security altogether disabled in the whole lineup. If they're serious about the iPad Pro as a replacement for a computer, they need to get proper multiuser support in order, not just multiple face support.
If they really want to replace computers the it’ll need liquid cooling too.

I wouldn't expect any changes in this area until iOS 13. Only a possibility then too. I am not sure the lack of multi-user support prevents it from being a replacement for a typical computer though, as it already is for some people today.

Many people use it as their "computer" nowadays. A smartphone is too small to browse certain sites, but a PC is not necessary.
I don't think the lack of multi user is important for most people, but it would be a really nice addition. If you have kids you want their iPad to have limits (something you can do with iOS 12) and don't have certain apps. But what if you want to use the device yourself? And even if the kids are grown up everyone has its Facebook account, mail, messages. You don't want to have every email account synchronised on the same device.
Maybe many people will share everything with their spouse and don't need two accounts, that's fine. But having the possibility to logout from the iPad and give it to someone else would be great. Of course every time you log in the system will have to open your apps from scratch, it could be a little slower, but I don't think you're suppose to switch between accounts every 5 minutes.

Hope iPhones get USBC next year. This way chargers charge all apple products

A lot of people would get mad about that.
I wouldn't mind actually, I know charge my iPhone on the Qi pad mainly and if I need to debug something it is convenient to have a single cable for all of my devices. Now I have lighting, in the future it will be USB-C. But a lot of accessories would need a dongle and in some cases it wouldn't be convenient at all to have an adapter, so you'd need to buy something new. And what's the advantage of having USB-C on the iPhone? Lighting is already a good connector, is reversible, thin.
I don't know if they'll ever put USB-C on the phone, I think they'll try to remove the cable in a few years and have a completely wireless phone. In the meantime Lighting is just as good as USB-C

Oh yea, I agree, it would definitely be nice to have. I just don't expect anything until iOS 13 at the minimum.

Can’t wait to check it out at the Apple Store. It seems the vertical bezels on the side will remain the same; its just the Home button and camera bezels will be removed, so, it will still be holdable.

I probably won’t look for another upgrade until they get OLED and Promotion working and its not over 2,000 dollars. We saw what OLED did to iPhone X pricing.

I love my iPad though, but its obvious, they are not a two or even three year upgrade cycle like the iPhone. There are still users out there still happy with their iPad 2.

I'm pretty happy with my 10.5" IPP. Especially after upgrading to the Xs and Series 4, so I'm not sure an iPad upgrade is in the cards this year.

Good question. I'm sure Apple has fully thought of this but I am still curious as to how this will work and if it will constantly wake the screen and be a fingerprint magnet on the sides. I wonder if this will lead the way for case manufacturers to come up with a solution if it does. We'll soon fine out I guess. But I'm getting one regardless. LOVE Face ID.

What if this "new Face ID" that supports horizontal and vertical is actually just two sets of "old" Face ID, one in a portrait bezel and one in a landscape bezel?

Or one just in the top edge, but with a sensor pack dedicated to each orientation with a single camera shared between them?

Looks great! Deal breaker if they remove the headphone jack though. I produce music and Bluetooth is too laggy. Also, carrying dongles and adapters to use headphones while charging is not an option.

Form over function. Glad I bought the 2017 10.5 inch iPad!

Close, good sir.

Today's Apple is "Fashion and Form over Function; something new and different over something refined and great."
