All sounds fine to me, for an 'S' release I'd say it is shaping up to be a good one. I know for sure a lot of people would be happy with the extra RAM regardless of if they actually need it or not, certainly seems to be something people mention a lot on here. I'd be interested to see what other improvements they give the Camera other than the increased Megapixel count and also if the base storage gets increased.

As it will come out just in time for my upgrade this is likely my new phone, just a decision between large and larger.

No 4 inch model, count me out
Sticking to my 5s an extra year then

Same here. Not a fan of big ass phones. Cant say I love the protruding lens either. The iPhone 6 design is just not for me.

The iPhone 5/5S still perform great so not a big deal anyway. But I would have upgraded had they done 4"

What he meant by "Gesture control support"?

On Android, it means that you can do certain actions with your hand to get the phone to do something. For example, double tap to wake, or sliding the side of your hand left to right on the screen to take a screenshot, etc. (These can and are device specific.)

I hope they let you set the video recording resolution as at 1080p it already takes too much space! I wish I could record video at 720p which is more than adequate.

You're a vocal minority. Guess you'll just have to switch to another manufacturer eventually.

However, from my anecdotal experience, most folks who swore they preferred the 4" iPhone, once they switched to the 4.7 (or even the 5.5") wouldn't go back to their small iPhone screen. You really do get used to handling and the size of the units very quickly.

Can't wait to replace my 6 - I dropped it and want to get rid of the scatches

This fits with the usual 'S' update:

- fix the casing problems of the last phone (this time the bending.. previously antennagate, fixed in the 4S.. scuffgate, fixed in the 5S)
- better camera
- new feature: force touch (previously Siri in the 4S, touchID in the 5S)
- more grunt: 2GB (and I wouldn't be surprised to see a speed bump too (previously the S phones got the biggest jumps in CPU and GPU performance))

After my 3G, I've only done "s" model updates for some of the reasons you listed.

Other predicted features for Apple's next iPhone, many of which have already been rumored, include an A9 processor with 2GB of RAM, improved 12-megapixel camera, a new Rose Gold color option, possible sapphire cover lenses and more.

Oh really - why 2 GB RAM? I don't think anyone thinks the iPhone 6 hasn't performed perfectly fine with 1 GB.

I'm surprised by the rose gold option given that the current 'Gold' option is already close to rose gold (desaturated + slight copper tint).

Rose gold made more sense on the Watch given that the 'yellow gold' option has an actual yellow gold color, making the difference between the two substantial.

I wonder if they'll keep the regular 'Gold' option like it is currently or give it more of a 'yellow gold' tone to differentiate it, of it they'll have two color options that are very similar.

Another possibility is that the Rose gold model will have a black front to differentiate it. Would look pretty good IMO.

Really? did not know that. lol. Well they should upgrade it even more... I'm so sick of having to buy screen protectors.

You have nothing to worry about. The 6S and 6S+(6+S:confused:) should get Gorilla Glass 4 just like Sammy's S6 and S6 Edge. Pretty sure Apple will call it Ion-X2 or something silly like that.

edit: I should say might be Gorilla Glass. Could also be DragonTail since Apple uses Corning and Asahi.

There's no real reason to implement USB-type C. Lightning is widely adopted among many Apple products and it is also a smaller connector than type C. Apple need as much space as they can get.

I don't understand why people are so adamant about USB-C. All of my devices and accessories are finally almost all transitioned to lightning. Lightning works great for me and I'd prefer not to have to manage three different cables. Let's stick with lightning for a while.

the problem for me would be that i will not be able to use it one handed, and when you are missing the other hand it is a key feature ;)
Jokes aside (i do still have both hands) for my usage 4 inch is optimal, have tried the 4,7 inch a couple of times for an extended periode of time, but the width is not for me.
I do hope that apple will see that they are throwing away customers by not offering a 4 inch model.

oh god, please no $25k Gold iPhones.

I will admit tho, i did catch myself attempting to force touch my iphone 6.

Les than one year ago Apple was telling people that 4" was the perfect size and anything larger was silly, now Apple isn't going to sell new 4" phones.

This is called the Reality Distortion Field of Apple

How long ago was it that a 32" CRT TV was considered ridiculously large? Now where are we? Time marches on.
