Blu-Ray, hmm, maybe but I'm not interested. It would be cool as an option.

Redesign, yes. If Apple makes it look like this, I'm buying .

That looks pretty unrefined. I sure wouldn't buy it. More LED Cinema display-like, i.e. the rounded corners and ugly black bezel.

I *was* planning on buying myself a new iMac to replace my white one from 2006 tomorrow. We've got a nice, shiny sales-tax free weekend right now.

But if I can wait just a little bit longer...my new iMac will be even shinier. And possibly get a price drop.

Sigh.

Decisions. Decisions.

Don't get me wrong, I think the latest iMac is gorgeous, but the current pedestal design is now 5 years old. I'd like to see something substantially new.

I've always wondered about this: what more could Apple do? It's pretty much a display with an entire computer behind it, and there's not much else they can do (it looks more or less like a display, and how much innovation have we seen in that area lately?).

They've already tried making the whole computer sit as one blob on the desk (iMac G3), a sunflower-esque design (G4), and now they've arrived at something that's barely there, although they've changed the curvature a bit (the original G5s had a flat back) and the enclosure (plastic to metal). I'm not sure what else they could do besides other random changes (for better or worse) to the design, but I wouldn't expect much change in the overall form anytime soon.

For the people who are wishing for a 28 or 30 Inch iMac's well your wasting your time because Apple is not going to release an iMac that huge I mean come on whats the average size of a monitor that people use? And it would cost a lot more over $2,500 for a size that big!

I predict Blu-Ray, faster processor, & LED screen

If you can wait, it's always better to wait. If you need it now, it's always better to get it now.

People often make purchase decisions much harder than they usually are.

And with the regards of a Matte finish screen???

Just like Obama health care, communities are organizing and speaking up... time to do the same with Apple...

Matte screen option, Apple, are you listening?!

...and just like the public health care option, 80% of the people want it...
but probably won't get it.

P.S. Once again, your signature is spelled wrong. It's spelled "Democratic"...

Just another vote for Blu-Ray. Hoping that Apple tracks threads like these. And yes I've submitted the request a number of times via official apple channels.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but...

1) Blu-ray. duh.
2) PCIe slot

If they add a PCIe slot, it would be amazing... doubt it, though. It's definitely not impossible, being able to fit to a corner of the design.

BluRay is coming SOME DAY, no doubt and obviously, but I have doubts it is coming this soon.

I think we'll see the following:

Blu-Ray, which I predicted last month here.

New enclosure, getting rid of the chin and going to LED backlighting, maybe a new color scheme.

More I/O ports.

Drop the 20'', making the 24'' the base and introduce a 28'' or 30'' with Core 2 Quad or Core i7 processors.

Maybe matte screen.

This is a joke post right? Core 2 Quad and Core i7 processors. How the hell will they cool them. Where are the mobile i7 processors? No way no how.

The new iMac's will defiantly have quad cores.

Charging $1500+ for a C2D is robbery regardless of how may features are built in.

so, is this all part of the rumored spec bump/price drop in the fall?

or will we have to wait till the spring.

It had damn well better hover about 4 to 6" over the desk, with no wires, otherwise I'm not buying it.

They will for sure lower the price like they did with the notebook refresh.

A LED screen upgrade is the most likely requested feature.

Apple has hit a wall with their design. They are forced into crappy laptop processors and video cards. They have no choices to offer in the quad core processor. They have no way to cool the best graphics cards out there. They must settle for two year old hardware and make people believe the design makes a good computer. Fortunately for them people eat it up. Anyone that spends $1,500 on an imac and only gets integrated graphics should throw that computer and themselves threw the nearest apple store.
