The carrier name has been hackable since a few weeks after the first iPhone came out 3.5 years ago. Also, Photoshop has had clone for decades.

In other words, it is very easy to fake that shot

True... but interesting that the seams are gone in both. Also, it is a white iPhone. There's much less chance that someone would have access to a white iPhone to take the original photo. Not saying it's true, just saying "hmmm"...

I'm a big believer that a Verizon iPhone is coming and with all the latest info, I believe sooner than June.

HOWEVER, relations between Apple and AT&T would have to be extremely bad for Apple to announce a whilt iPhone and the pull it purely for the reason of launching it as a Verizon exclusive. I seriously doubt we'll see a white Verizon iPhone at launch, but if we do I'll bet AT&T gets one at the same time.

White panel retrofit kits have been available for months. This could have began as a black iPhone and then had the white parts added later on.

Apple says the white iPhone will be delayed til spring. So it is going to happen.

Hmmm, could be Verizon phone. Looks too well constructed to just be a past proto-type.

I don't fault the video for showing two iPhone 4's at the beginning. Just means they didn't have the whole 'iphone 5', just the innards. More for effect, really.

They could just release it on Verizon in a couple months and have the AT&T version catch up in June. Then they keep the same release schedule they always have had. No biggie. Keeps the buzz going for an AT&T release.

Definitely going to wait for June to upgrade though.

NO!! Apple has full right to do this as this has nothing to do with if the video is a hoax or not but the video contained the parts of the Iphone 4 (the one thats in stores and in peoples hands now) which Apple have fully legal copyright on. so showing the internal parts and the materials used is a breach of that copyright so they well in the rights to request youtube to close is down.

this proves nothing regarding weather the others parts is the next iphone or not.
:apple:

Psshhhttt. You ever hear of the site iFixit. You know, the one that tears everything apart and posts it all online right after the object is released to the public. ;)

More than that, SmartPhoneMedic released an almost identical video of iPhone 4 innards BEFORE release, just like this video. But those videos are still posted on YouTube....ODD.

The iPhone 4 is "officially" an old model now, bring on the CDMA iPhone 4 or iPhone 5!

i hope so, i want one for verizon badly but the white is fugly, i only want a black iphone

Not sure if this has been pointed out earlier but the start of the video contained a still from the iphone4 launch (I recall it being a shot of Steve on stage). That still is likely to be from the Apple coverage. Hence Apple has a copyright.

Not necessarily anything to do with the bits of metal seen later on.

If that were true, the video could have been re-edited and re-posted. There was no need to remove the video entirely if what you say is correct. I'm pretty sure it's because this is something Apple doesn't want anyone to see.

I don't see why Apple wouldn't change the antenna placement for even the Verizon version. It makes sense that they fix it. I hope this is the Verizon phone. I do prefer the current placement of the black lines though.

Also, if this is the 5th generation why wouldn't Apple incorporate the microUSB? This phone will "it" until the second half of 2012. Are they really going to wait until the last minute to address that change? I personally cannot wait for Apple make that change because I hate the ginormous hole at the bottom of my iPhone with all the dust in it.

Their answer to microUSB is to include a dock cable that terminates with a USB connector. They will not migrate from the dock to microUSB.

Yep. If they changed to USB, every dock on the planet would be junk overnight. Ain't gonna happen...

I like how he's like "this could fix the antena issue."

Yeah, or it's an older version that's even worse and they added the separators to make it better!

I mean, I have no idea, but neither does he. We have no idea of knowing what this is.

Umm thats why it calls a rumor!! no one knows for sure, people are speculating.

It says the the video has been removed by "Apple Inc.." <------ with two periods. Could easily be a typo error from someone who is pulling our legs; ie, not Apple.

Easily explained....the final period is always present when the form is filled out by some YouTube employee for any video removed. Inc. is an abbreviation that has a trailing '.'. Combine the 2 and you get Inc..

Definitely true. Since the take-down happened. QED

There is a difference between pre-release video that they would have a trade secrets interest in and one that is easily re-created by anyone with an iPhone 4. There are other legal factors involved too that might have made Apple decide to handle this differently.

Not true, an almost identical iPhone 4 leak by SmartPhoneMedic is still up on YouTube at this moment.

And in all likelihood, using a single shot from a video - assuming it came from the video not a still camera at the event - would be what is known as fair use in copyright law.

Just to be sure...you know both videos are pre-release, right?

As if CDMA isn't old tech... Just sayin' :)

I looking forward to an LTE/HSPA+ iPhone.

And exactly how old is CDMA tech? GSM?

Agreed with second statement, I'm leaning toward an LTE iPhone based on statements by Ivan Seidenberg.
