The thing is, internal spec upgrades are something people have come to expect when an upgraded tech item gets released, so it is hardly something to crow about (and we know Apple tends to be quite conservative with specs). IOS6 runs on a 4s as well, unless it benefits the new iphone in some unique way. Same with 4G.

Likewise, Samsung was able to crap out a larger screen in less time, so what's there to be excited with about a slightly larger screen?

That's something I don't understand. The upcoming iphone can have anandtech writing a thesis about whether a minor feature will be included or not. Last I remember, the galaxy S3 didn't receive anywhere near as much fanfare.

Apple only adds one new phone model a year so naturally, it's a bigger deal.

Can anybody ready the chip ID on the other 2 chips? They would tell something also maybe?

Wonder if a "how to assemble an iPhone" guide gets released with the new device. This is just crazy....Not since the first iPhone have I seen so many leaks.

Concerns do remain, however, over the legitimacy of the image.

Here's what it looks like when you remove the luminance.
It is quite easy to see the A6 was "shopped" in. I included a close-up of the area in question

if iPhone gets a quad-core A6... that is what could pull me away from the Galaxy S III I have been testing out.

The a6 is just an apple term. What matters more if it is A15 based or is it stil A9 based. If it is quad core it will akmost def be A9 based. A dual core a15 will be more power efficient and faster. This would be a much better option

Maybe its just a prototype to test out the A6 for a future product... Ah, just saw the post above, yeah, looks like a photoshop trick.

I also don't think quad core graphics would be wasted in an iPhone. It just means that you could run more intense games and at a higher frame rate. Games like infinity blade are getting more and more complex and need more and more power to drive the game. The average user is more likely to play games than do CPU intensive tasks, making added GPU power more likely than added CPU power in my opinion.

AnandTech ran tests on the A5X when the latest iPad was released. They found that the A5X alone used more power than the entire iPhone 4S (Screen, radios, A5, etc.). So even if you don't believe the quad core GPU would be a waste on a 960x640 screen, it would destroy the battery.

What if, all those parts aren't for the next iPhone, but for the next iPod Touch?

1st iPod Touch Dont need to have LTE Antennas, and maybe neither NFC antenna, so it has no problem to use (as previous generations) Unibody Like construction.

2nd its safer for apple to distribute next iPod Touch among develpers than full next iPhones.

While Apple has become conservative, really not that conservative, just look at MackBook Pro re-design, they go far on making it slimmer, innovative, the only legacy part is the Keyboard (worth).

that's ridiculous.

where are u going to use nfc now?

how about better notification system?! maybe apple should copy google more as they have already
Apple's notification system is far superior to Google's, imo.

Dual cores A15 or Quad cores A9 with PowerVR 544mp2 (as efficient as new iPad's 543MP4 but thinner)

But it's just a taller 4S! Apple should stop suing competitors and start innovating again. Steve Jobs would never have allowed this... etc.

You don't change the best possible design. And Steve Jobs MOST definitely worked on this iPhone, along with a few years worth of products that will be introduced in the future. Hint: Apple doesn't think up a product and release it in a month, it takes a long time, and they plan it out years ahead.

maybe some people were true, all the leaks were for an upgrade of the previous iPhone 4S  with a taller screen whereas the real new iPhone is still kept secret with a new cpu/gpu and design

It's the same thing people said last year. People thought the parts were for an upgraded 4, but the 5 was still kept secret.......

Welcome to people in denial hoping for something different despite evidence towards the contrary.

I don't know how you can say that. iPhone 4s is my daily phone, but I also have a Galaxy Nexus. The notification drop down in android is much better. The only thing I ever wished it had were app badges. Developers can do some very cool things with the android notification system.
