Still gonna take less time than it takes for iTunes to startNot a big fan of wireless charging but I guess it will be a great addition and a selling point. Even with faster and improved wireless charging. Can you imagine how long it's going to take to charge the battery? Especially wireless charging with the teeny tiny Apple logo.
There are 3 USB-C ports on top of HDMI and SD and Mag safe. Also USB-C on both sides as well so more flexibility in what you want to plug in. So moving from a 13" MacBook Pro with only 2 USB-C ports there is no loss and only gain.Technically, something was lost - the flexibility of a USB-C port. Apple basically took one of the USB-C buses and tore it apart to only accept HDMI and SD card.
The new MBPs replace the old ones with 4 USB-C ports. The 2 USB-C ports MBP has not been replaced. There are 3 USB-C ports on top of HDMI and SD and Mag safe. I think most will be fine with the trade off. Not needing a dongle is great and having MagSafe back again is another bonus, as well as something that would use up one of those USB-C ports. For what I have the USB-C is not all that useful as everything I plug in is the more standard USB connection, so will still need an adapter for those unfortunately. The new MBPs replace the old ones with 4 USB-C ports. I'm not saying that it was a bad design choice. My initial point was that it is a flexibility-convenience trade-off, hence something was sacrificed.I think most will be fine with the trade off. The iPad is heavierWhy not just use the same MagSafe charger as the Mac?
Maybe Apple could use you know the “smart” connector to “wirelessly” charge an iPad?
No way! Apple will never do that, because selling a furniture is not as profit as selling a clean clothI think Apple and other tech companies are working toward an ecosystem, where coffee tables, desks, etc. will wirelessly charge your device, no matter where you place it. That's the goal.
They will copy Samsung LaterIs Apple running out of new ideas so they make it wireless charging now and few generations later remove the feature?
