BarclayCard is now working. I just added mine to Passbook/Apple Pay.

I had to call to verify my Barclay issued US Airways Dividend Miles MasterCard. Kind of annoying. My AMEX they just sent a text to verify. Wish all banks did that.

Still on hold for "next available relationship manager".

Did you have to call to verify your Barclay card?

----------

successfully added PNC (Debit) and BarclayCard (USAir)

:D

Did you have to call to verify your USAir card? I did? If not, how did you verify?

Have you not added any other cards? (as in, do you know what a successful one looks like)

After the card is added, you will have a message under it when you tap on it in Passbook that says "XYZ debit/credit Mastercard (or visa)" is ready for Apple Pay.

Before I had that on all 3 of the ones I have added, I had the verification message. For Capital One last week I could do it thru their app. Today for USAA I had to do it via phone with the process as below.

The phone number they have set up was an Apple Pay one, I then had to enter my account number, my online pin, then they sent me a text and waited while I got it. Then entered that number into the phone call and it went verified.

I only have these two cards that supposedly are ready today. My third card is a Credit Union so no I do now have one to test and see what it looks like when successful.

Well sounds like my specialist maybe wrong. When I tap on either card (PNC or Barclay) it Shows my apps installed for either, then under that the words:

Ready to Verify

Call PNC (or Barclaycard)

Then Call 1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx (phone for Barclay or PNC) to verify your card for apple pay.
Select a different verification option (no other available than this bank number)

Contact PNC Bank, and so on.....
Card number
Device Activation Number.
terms and conditions
Remove card.

Well the specialist said it should work since it added but they are learning like me so heck I do not know???

I had to call into Barclay to activate my Arrival Plus card as instructed on Apple Pay setup screen. Waited on the phone for about 7 mins. The rep said she needs to manually activate the feature under my account for security purposes. Once she activated on her side, she told me to verify it and I can see the card is immediately 'enabled' on my phone (The detail screen shows up differently and I can select it as the default card)

One quick note. I'm currently in Taiwan now and I already activated Capital One, Barclay, and US Bank cards from here. I already used Apple Pay on the taxi here that equipped with NFC payment terminal without any issue. Hopefully Apple can open up more so I can add my metro card soon. I use the metro card (NFC enabled) for transportations, security gate, elevator, and my front door. :)

NFCU question

For anyone who got the NFCU debit card working:

Do you have the CUCARD or the Visa Check Card(red one)?

I got my NFCU and USAA credit cards working, but I can't get the debit card on there. I have the CUCARD.

Thanks.

fyi in the SE: Regions Bank, Renasant Bank and Keesler Federal Credit Union are also Apple Pay active now. Anyone know if Sun Trust is Apple Pay yet?

My regions card is not working. Giving me the your bank does not support apple pay message that it was originally giving, odd because all last week it was accepting the card and partly verifying it then saying call your bank.

The biggest problem with Subway is the fact that the credit card reader is the same device that you tap to pay, so when I requested to tap, he had to take the card reader from his side of the register, stretch the cord as long as it would go, hold the machine for me to tap, and then he had to coil the cord back under the register... he didn't seem very impressed...

I may be confused. Both my Barclay and my PNC Debit Card are added but on the page with the card info (card number) and special code for Device Account number all filled in. but both say Call PNC Bank (and a number) or for Barclay call Barclaycard and a number. So I am wondering if cards are good and if I need to call anything to verify. For those of you whose PNC or Barclay. I finally got to someone on PNC he says that really support is not good til November 7 so I am wondering if anyone has gotten their PNC cards to actually work or just enter into the applepay settings?

My Barclay Card said call for verification (annoying). I did and was asked to enter my card number (or SSN) -- so I entered card number. Then waited 10 minutes on hold. She comes on and asks for card number (WTF?). Why do they ask for it up front and then live? She said now verified. Still says need to call for verification though - guess I need to call back. Doubly annoying.

It definitely still needs to be activated. Did you tap on the phone number part for it to call? (that was where USAA had a different number set up for us).

It obviously is a work in progress - and it sounds like PNC has some kinks.

HOepfully you get it verified soon - it is pretty darn cool to use :p

Got all my cards in on day one..... the problem is that I don't need that much from Walgreens. We need more stores to sign up.

Off topic -- but how do you post screen shots here? Don't you have to have it on the web and give a URL?

US Bank Business Cards working too

You can even add business cards from US Bank. Debit and Credit Cards will work. But both require an additional step which involves calling the card service. It's not a problem though. Thank you US Bank!

You would think that Barclaycard, the bank with the exclusive Apple financing promotions, would've been ready for Pay at the getgo, but whatever. Better late that never.

It's not even all that late. People forget that Apple Pay only launched two weeks ago. But I can see how people would be anxious to start using it.

Well, if the seller pays these 3%, then we actually pay.

In Brazil, discounts when paying with cash money are from 3% to 10%, but not every seller offers this option.

Some sellers charge the same price for a product irrespective to the payment method, but in this case they're actually receiving more when a consumer pays with cash.

The 3% gets charged to us regardless of how we pay. I can't think of a single place in the US I've seen that charges less for paying with cash. If we pay it anyway, we might as well make it convenient.

No, I didn't have to call anyone. Mine is just a plain ol' white Visa card, no rewards or miles or anything like that.

I got my NFCU and USAA credit cards working, but I can't get the debit card on there. I have the CUCARD.

Thanks.

According to NFCU, it looks like the Cucard is not supported, only the Visa check card. I'll call this evening and get one.

Just activated my Navy Federal check card. The process was painless and easy, although I wish I could do some kind of online verification instead of having to call in.

I'll probably go try it in Subway today or something. :D

Good point because it seems like :apple:pay has been out for years. it's probably due to the fact that it's associated with passbook.

Just added my Navy Federal Check Card and Credit card. It was almost instant, no additional verification or anything.

With Navy Federal being on board that takes care of most of my cards that I actually use (except the Chase Military Star Mastercard). Now we just need more stores to upgrade their terminals with NFC readers. There's only so much to buy at Walgreens.

It won't actually be necessary for merchants to sign up with ApplePay. NFC is coming (despite the best efforts of some) which is all that will be required.

In this instance, Apple got it right by building their product around an existing system (NFC) that already works with multiple products like Google Wallet and various chip cards. Anywhere that one of those products work, the others will work as well.
