I haven't done a full endurance test on my N4 yet, but I know 2 nights ago I was over 15 hours off charge, 2.5 hours screen time, with 44% battery left. I thought that was pretty damn good.

Battery it still pretty poor. Can't even have the screen on for more than 3 and a half hours :/

I honestly think that the new OS update will focus on battery life. There will be options like do not disturb but knowing Google thrill take it further which should optimise battery life, sleep mode and perhaps have other power management options.
... Just mo

My N4 gets around 4-1/2 to 5 hours On Screen time, with overall battery life around 14 - 16 hours.

That's more along the lines of what I was getting when I was on cyanogenmod and fauxs kernel. But I've got a back light bleeding problem and am waiting for a replacement. So I'm back at stock for the time being. It's just sad that at stock, the battery on here is so unimpressive.

Hi,

How can you make
re-appear this quick access bar to different modules as gps, wifi, bt... on a non rooted Nexus 4?

Thank you ;)

Somewhat related....

I decided to order the bumper (finally in stock!) and the wireless charger early last week. The day my charger is supposed to arrive, it doesn't. I chalk it up to a rough day for the UPS driver and assume it will arrive the next day with my bumper.

Next day comes and bumper arrives, but no wireless charger. I contact UPS - they tell me I should definitely call the shipper as it's unusual for a package to be more than a day late (ya, especially since I get "forced" into 2-day shipping).

Contact Google Support and get some half-awake guy who sounds like he's on pot....talking slow, not really connecting his sentences. Eventually, he says he's going to escalate it to a shipping investigator and that they'll let me know.

I has now been 5 additional days, with the obligatory (poorly worded with terrible grammar) email saying they are sorry for the delay but that the shipping info has been updated - then they regurgitate the tracking info....like I can't already see that. Not to mention I was told by UPS that their site would automatically update (if the package was "out for delivery") the delivery date to the current day.....

I'm getting frustrated and have attempted to respond directly to the rep who "helped" me in the first place, but I'm contemplating calling Support back and rehashing my issue in the hopes someone else will figure this out faster....

Anyways, just my rant about Google Support. Man is it nice to have 2 Apple stores within 10 miles of my house....

Other than that, loving the N4 - although I'm looking forward to KLP to see if they further address the battery issue with the msm_hsic_host wakelock.....still draining my battery to the tune of about 12-15%....

Thats what i would do.

ugh, after weeks of only mild issues my Nexus 4 is once again having random battery issues. When I first purchased my Nexus 4 it would randomly shut off in my pocket and drain to 0% battery. For example I would charge it overnight, unplug it in the morning, put it in my pocket asleep, drive to work (30 minutes), and arrive w/ it off and at 0%.

After flashing Cyanogenmod I haven't had this issue, and I've gotten modest battery life (1-1.5 days inconsistently). The last two times I have charged it, however, it has shut off and when I boot up it shows 0% battery. Taking it off the charger, it will turn off unless I allow another charging cycle.

It's dumb personal experiences like this that puts me off, in my Android experiences.

I have had an awful experience with Google customer support as well. My inbox had over 70 emails from them with countless lies on when I would get my replacement Nexus 4. It arrived 3 weeks later than it was supposed to. So thanks to all of the liars at Google, I was without my Nexus 4 for 3 weeks.

Oddly, my three consecutive Google Customer Service calls (for the Nexus 4 RMAs, and ultimately the return) were incredibly pleasant. They were competent.

Guess I got lucky.

My N4 battery life has just started to such after ~45 percent is left.

It goes from lasting 8 hours to dropping dead in 4 hours. All with the same moderate usage.

Of course right after I put my carbon fiber on I have a battery issue :/

Ugh.....I wish Google would get their sh** together....after going through 2 more reps yesterday, I finally got one who escalated my issue to their shipping investigator....

Unfortunately, I'm not optimistic. They are really souring me toward the Nexus line.....great customer service is one of my 5 keys I want in my smartphone experience....luckily for them, they can offer the other 4 - the next best Android OEM offers 3-4 of them (depending on how good HTC's customer service is....I don't have high expectations).

Par for the course when it comes to Google customer "service". I had a mountain of issues with them last summer when I made the mistake of ordering a Galaxy Nexus from them. Took me half a dozen phone calls and a month worth of calendar to get a RMA from them.

It's almost easier to order a new one and return the old one than trying to get an RMA in a timely manner.

That's exactly what I was trying to do. Service was so bad that I pretty much just wrote off buying anything from Google.

Amazon is the best for returns. They would send you a new phone, next day for free. They would only charge you if they did not get the original back within about 2 weeks.

Hello,

WhatsApp allows you to send videos of 12mb only.

However, when you decide to send videos threw whatspp with the Nexus 4 the only video mode available is 1080P which reduces the length of video (about 10 seconds ).
How can we change the resolution when we film directly via whatsapp. I do not want to shoot videos, then encode and finaly send.

If I'm not mistaken, only the iphone can shoot for 45 seconds and transcode videos on the fly.

Thank you :D

That video limitation in Whatsapp is really getting to be a joke. The app should at least be able to re-compress if it is going to be that restrictive for video.

Recieved my wireless charging orb today after Google refunded my money and I reoredered it. Liking it a lot so far.....can't decide if I'm going to keep it at home on my nightstand or on my desk at work....leaning towards home

Kind of my first real endurance battery test, as I've been up since 4pm Thursday. I know I don't have a lot of screen time, but damn this thing has some pretty decent idle time. 12 of the hours it sat in airplane mode because of work, but it never went back on the charger since 4pm Thursday. Still has 32% battery left. Also, stock Android 4.2.2.

When I am not on wifi, my battery life is atrocious.

I just got my nexus 4 and I'm wondering why I waited so long to get it.

I realize how amazing stock android is compared to touch wiz and I just need a wireless charging orb now

I leave mine at home, but it probably would be more useful at work. I don't really pull it off the charger much at night because once I start charging it I am done with my phone for the night.

And it is amazing how much better battery life is on wifi versus off WiFi. Also, every single nexus 4 I have owned or seen in person, I can see the digitizer under the screen in the sun. It is beyond annoying.

I have an NFC tag at my front door, whenever I come home, I tap it to turn my N4's wifi on, and vice versa when I leave. I try to be on wifi as much as possible, even though I have the old unlimited data plan, there's no point in testing it.

Another way I keep my battery lasting is the screen brightness. I keep mine way down. Unless you're outside all day, there is no reason to keep it any higher than this:

Screenshot_2013-03-23-11-32-34_zpsb7bce1b7.png

And even if you are outside, it only needs to go up a little.

I have my brightness at a bit more than half way. I still get two hours screen time and a full day in between charges. The display is too nice to use it at a lower setting.
