Amazing isn't it? This late in the release and its still being perfected....

I wonder if this can be seen as an admission of fault for anyone that has had to pay out for repairs?
That's quite a negative thought process you've taken.

I see it as impressive that they continue to make improvements.

For me, this is the best nexus I've ever owned (Nexus One is second, sorry Samsung!) but the issues others seem to be having..... Damn! :(

It's important to remember some people have problems with $160,000+ luxury cars too. That's why dealerships have warranty repairs.

I've had each model of Nexus smartphones, as have a few of my close friends. In our circle we currently own five of the Nexus 4 models. None of us have had problems.

We ordered the minute they became available on Google play. The wait was less than one week for delivery. I guess the old saying "the early bird gets the worm" applies.

I've owned lots of iPhones, Samsung Galaxy's & others. The Nexus series is one of the finest.

I would recommend Paranoid Android along with matrix or Franco kernel.

Nexus 4 is the best software wise, my favorite along with the blackberry 10 running z10. But I was disappointed by the hardware. Here's to hoping task650 will get onboard the gs4 ASAP, or a stable aokp will come to htc one or gs4 or Xperia ZL.

Cm10.1 with Franco kernel.

I didn't know you could mix cm kernel. Why cm over aokp?

Is pa a variation of cm?

The reason why I like to keep stock kernel is because I don't want to use custom drivers for the hardware.

Found this last night, it allows you to use the Motorola camera app instead of the stock 4.2.2 camera. Why would you do that? Well my big reason is so you can use the volume rocker for a shutter button. There are also other things that this camera apparently does better, like handles the auto-focus bug in 4.2.2. I've been using it since last night, only ran into a couple hiccups, mostly with the built-in filters.

I believe PA is built off CM and I'll second this endorsement--my personal favorite custom ROM. Wish there was a stable build of it for the AT&T Note 2.

I stand corrected. Although isn't CM built off AOSP?

It is, but obviously with a ton of features added in. PA's AOSP is really as stock as can be, with the exception of their Hybrid Engine which is the selling point of the ROM.

PA is probably the most stable major ROM nowadays, AOKP and CM seem to be adding too many features rather than focusing on rock solid stability.

I don't mean to thread-jack, but do you guys think it would be wise to buy a Nexus 4 now? I have the opportunity to buy a friend's 16gb for $325 and I'm not sure if I should go for it. I know that a ton of new phones are coming out, but I'd like to keep the cost down as I am switching to T-Mobile soon :)

You can get a Nexus 4 with T-Mobile free right now at Fry's. If you have one of those in your area. Not sure if that wa s a add for 3-4 days or it is all the time. I saw the ad on Friday.

Its here on their website, bottom right side http://www.frys.com/ads/page5#AdNavi

I want to go with their new no-contract plans, so I don't think I can participate in this offer :(

You can go there and find out. It says contract phones but those ads are all clustered together. T-Mobiles plan is probably one of the new ones and they dont have 2 year contracts no more so id assume thats what you will get.

You should be able to find one on craigslist for $300 or maybe less.

Prices are in the $400 in my immediate area. And I've had terrible luck with CL recently. I'd rather spend the extra money to buy from my friend who I know has babied the thing :p

I am currently using my 3rd Nexus 4 thanks to all the bad units I have gotten. This third one has the little nubs on the bottom. My 4th Nexus 4 just came in, because the third also has problems, and for whatever reason this one doesn't have the nubs. Looks like this "new" one is actually an older unit.

What problems were you having? Sounds like a serious quality control issue
