I think that's more so the case with the informed consumer. The average person doesn't even know KLP is coming. On the other hand, with me, that's why I won't be considering a GS4 at all. I'd much rather wait until April and have KLP.

I doubt it will be mute for average buyers. The gs3 sold like hot cakes despite being on ICS while Galaxy nexus had jellybean in summer.

True that! But I was referring to people in these forums particularly this thread...
I don't think these are average people.

I made a typo so it should of been discussions and not decisions.

Damnit! Now the new phone I got does not have strong enough magnets for the charging orb. it slipes after like 5 minutes.

I dont know if this has been discussed before but I have 2 issues with my N4

1) the bottom right screw area is getting progressively squeaky. Like even when I'm holding it on a call it start to squeak, and I can press it a little and feel it give. Not too sure if it's a biggie, I might just find a screwdriver and tighten up the screw

2) did Google recently change the font within their search page? I use it now and it's different. Nothing major, but wondering if it might be something that I did in the config

Cheers

If you mean chrome, they updated it and it's smaller font now.

My first N4 did the same thing on the bottom left. I waited for the second wave to be produced, then had mine replaced, and haven't had any issues after that.

This may be related to the problem I'm experiencing with my Nexus 4: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=43416

Seems a handful of people are having problems with their calls too, and it may be an issue with the mic and noise cancellation.

Digging further, it seems there've been other posts about mic issues, where the person on the other line is having a difficult time hearing them. Same issue as me.

No matter how important features are, actually being a good phone is most important. I personally need a great speaker phone on my phones.

screen time I meant, sorry. When I said usage, I meant time being off the charge. The screen time was only 1 hours 56 mins and I was 18%. Shockingly, that is way better than I was getting before 4.2.2

Theres something wrong. You must have an app wake locking. My galaxy nexus would be at like 50-65% with that kind of usage.

In samsungs defense they actually implemented a lot of project butter into their ICS builds. The touch smoothing was actually already implemented.

I honestly wish google had stuck with samsung for this nexus. The nexus 10's build quality and materials (they are all soft touch) are amazing. Much better feeling than the s3 and note ii. They also seem to have less weird issues than the nexus 4. They also should have stuck with the stock android aosp browser. It is so much smoother and faster than chrome. Also formats pages better and has full screen.

I get about the same with very little installed on my phone. I would say those usage times are normal. I have Google Now disabled, currents disabled and the only app that I have that updates is 1weather. I only have about 10 apps installed.

Agreed.

I've dug further. Apparently there's a separate issue where the caller won't hear your first few words (usually "Hello") for a few seconds whenever you first answer a call.

I, too, experience this every single time I pick up a call. I say "Hello" and the other person is silent. Then I say "Hello" again and they go "Hey..." and continue.

Apparently a lot of Nexus 4 owners have this problem. The first few words, whatever they may be, just doesn't go through.

I feel it's related to my choppiness issue and related to when the other person flat out doesn't hear a thing I say for a few seconds.

It's very frustrating to be on a call like this. I'm hoping my second RMA will not have this issue. Google did offer me a full refund, with the restocking fee waived, if the third one is still problematic. I may take them up on that depending on how March 14th goes.

Then, I will likely never purchase an LG product again.

Sounds like something that I've had happen on my iPhone many many times. It finally got to the point where I waited a few seconds before saying anything.

Haven't had that happen on my N4.

Has anyone got feedback on the Qualcomm battery app?

I left the app installed as it seems to improve the battery life somewhat. However I'm on AOKP with Matr1x kernel, so battery life is already good to start with.

I disabled the battery app's wifi setting. I don't like it tinkering with my wifi switch.

Any of you guys went from this to a Note 2 or from a Note 2 back to it? I'm wondering how it compares. No stylus and 0.8" screen disadvantage.

Thanks after reading a full description of what the app actually does I've decided against it. I can manually set my phone to those settings if I chose to.

I an more looking for a descent app just to underclock my phone- still considering this.

This is a carrier issue, not phone specific. Every single phone I have owned on ATT, I have to wait a second before I say something.

I used the two side by side for a few weeks. It really depends on how you plan on using your phone. When using the note 2, I was doing a lot more tablet things like surfing the web or watching videos. The size of the nexus is much better for using as a phone, and the interface is a lot cleaner IMO. The issues are the call quality and speaks on the nexus though. I think the note 2 is a better phone and multi tasking device if the size is not an issue for you. I wouldn't get to caught up on getting instant updates since most people seem to be replacing phones at least yearly. I would focus on the product right now, not the potential of a product based on an unknown update.

I have personally never experienced delayed hellos ever before (with the 4s or with the galaxy nexus). Nor am I experiencing it with my other lines on the same family plan but with other phones.

I'm not positive but I'm not convinced the carrier is the culprit.

dang, The first time I ever noticed it was with the iphone 4

I'm done with this phone. My second RMA also has the same problem. I discovered that when I'm on speaker during a call, it's especially noticeable.

So those with Nexus 4's, next time you're on a call, try it on speaker and talk for a bit. See if the other person says you sound choppy or not.

I thoroughly tested it this time, calling multiple people TWICE. Once with the Nexus 4, and once with my father's phone which is on the same network, just different line. Nexus 4 results: choppiness. Father's phone: crystal clear. This was true with all three people I called. It isn't Tmobile. (Again, I never had this issue on Tmobile with the Galaxy Nexus).

Also, people on the other end said when I'm not on speaker, the call quality is better (ie. less choppy). When I'm on speaker, however, it's dreadfully choppy. It can only be the microphone on the Nexus 4.

That closes the chapter of my Nexus 4 ownership. Time to look elsewhere. I called Google, and to their credit, they were extremely understanding and patient and offered me a full refund, restocking fee waived.

I will never trust another LG phone again.

I use speakerphone all the time and do not have this problem. As stated previously, I also work in an office full of people with Nexus 4's, and nobody has this issue. So nope, haven't had nor seen this issue.

I remember someone suggesting this before.. :D

Yeah, good thing you suggested that or else I wouldn't have figured it out.

You know nothing of me and my feelings toward the Nexus program. Truly nothing.

Wow...so defensive. I'm just talking about phones... no need throw a tantrum. As I've intimated previously, it sounds as if you'd been happier with a different model. I'd suggest taking a look at the upcoming GS4 or the HTC One.

Wow...so defensive.

Defensive? You mean after your personal attacks in which you insinuated it was the user and not the phone that had the problems? Or the one where you berated me for voicing my Nexus 4 experiences in a thread about Nexus 4 experiences?

Again, I posted a link to a thread full of Nexus 4 owners with a variety of call quality issues, some of which their descriptions match mine to the tee.

Ya. Defensive.

Adios.

You seem to be taking a conversation regarding phones, quite personally... You stated your issues with the Nexus 4, so I suggested you may want to consider a different device. If a phone is not suiting your needs, there are other choices. That's the beauty of technology, choice. There's no need to be emotional or defensive. I am merely making suggestions. Perhaps the GS4 or the HTC One will make you happier. Also ZTE has a phone soon to be released that looks decent.
