OK so what about things like live wallpapers? Widgets? Don't they run all the time? I did not think iOS would allow things to run like a widget.
Not necessarily, a right written widget is only updated when it is needed.
Android gives developers more power and flexibility and this is a good and bad thing, you can mess more with that
Maybe or it could run constantly if required ie the app was written by the developer to do so
I can give you two examples:
1. Open YouTube in chrome and play video, when you minimize or open a new tab it pauses.
2. Try the same with the YouTube app.
I think I'm just going to stick with my Nexus 4. I was debating selling it and picking up an S4 but, I'm honestly just really happy with this phone. I just rooted it, installed Paranoid Android and Franco and now the phone lasts a full day with moderate usage. 16GB is good enough for me. I'm uploading my music to the cloud. Using full screen mode with PIE makes the phone seem bigger and I don't consider a 15-20% bump in speed on the S4 to be worth the $200-250 difference after selling the N4 and getting it.
So I got an iPhone 5 and I wanted to be able to switch back and forth between my Nexus 4 and the iPhone 5 so I got a SIM adapter. I put the nano SIM in it and tried to slide it in the Nexus 4. I ended up damaging something because the Nexus 4 now won't detect any SIM.
Any ideas what I can do? I bought it from a seller on ebay.

I probably damaged mine trying to get the tray out. Did this happen to your Nexus 4?

I'm content with my Nexus 4 , but hate it's camera today I got a good deal on an iPhone 5 bought it with the intention of sending it overseas, but I'm so tempted loool, I gave up an i5 for the Nexus.....................
I've only tried aokp & cm.
They are both very cool ... Aokp sporting more options but it is a little bugy.
Cm was a good balance for me between options and bugs. I did have to disable the voice input feature cause my keyboard had a bug where it stayed hidden constantly.
I'm back to stock and missing out on the options.
So do you guys think the camera is crap all together, or there could be a software update that could fix it? I mean it seemed specs wise that it could do much better. Has anybody rooted and loaded a ROM that makes it better?
Theres a mod on XDA that says it improves it, but apparently its just a placebo effect. So I'm guessing the camera really is that bad.

The crappy camera is all hardware based. There isn't a software patch to fix bad hardware.
No but people are saying the new HTC One has the updates to fix the camera. Sometimes it has to do with software stuff. I mean an 8 megapixel camera should be pretty good. I know it is not best, but I have seen worse too.
