This is one of those great misunderstanding about Android. Unless you make a background process apps are halted like on iOS when they are on background
What that apps are running in the background?

Don't they run all the time?
Not necessarily, a right written widget is only updated when it is needed.
Android gives developers more power and flexibility and this is a good and bad thing, you can mess more with that
OK so it can run in the background if it is not written well?
Maybe or it could run constantly if required ie the app was written by the developer to do so
OK thanks.
Dang I hate those adapters. Once mine got stuck then had to take the phone apartSo I got an iPhone 5 and I wanted to be able to switch back and forth between my Nexus 4 and the iPhone 5 so I got a SIM adapter. I put the nano SIM in it and tried to slide it in the Nexus 4. I ended up damaging something because the Nexus 4 now won't detect any SIM.
Any ideas what I can do? I bought it from a seller on ebay.

Yup mine got stuck inside. Then I opened the phone and took it out. Didn't want to force it outI probably damaged mine trying to get the tray out. Did this happen to your Nexus 4?

It wasn't that hard. You probably damaged your sim card slot. Maybe ask the ebay seller for receipt (If they bought it from play store then contact Google)Was it easy enough to do?
anybody got any recommendations for ROMs?

So do you guys think the camera is crap all together, or there could be a software update that could fix it? I mean it seemed specs wise that it could do much better. Has anybody rooted and loaded a ROM that makes it better?
Have you tried PA?I've only tried aokp & cm.
They are both very cool ... Aokp sporting more options but it is a little bugy.
Cm was a good balance for me between options and bugs. I did have to disable the voice input feature cause my keyboard had a bug where it stayed hidden constantly.
I'm back to stock and missing out on the options.

The crappy camera is all hardware based. There isn't a software patch to fix bad hardware.
