Does anyone know what wireless charger this is? I've seen it in a couple of Nexus 5 reviews and it looks pretty nice. I'll do some google searching too but I don't know what to search for. Image
I know it was a Kickstarter project in, oh, June or so, that I'd backed and then decided I didn't need at the time. Looked very nice. Presumably you can Google the company name. Edit: Shazam!

Anyone using a wireless charger or planning on picking one up? Any recommendations? The sooner I can quit plugging and unplugging this cable, the better.

I suspect that's exactly why they can't sell them there. Sucks.

Well, it's not also a battery like the other recommended one, but the white Nokia Qi charger is a lot cheaper and works great - it's what I've been using (the other colors work the same, obviously, but white is a fair bit cheaper at the moment).

I'm using the same Nokia plate as jsw (though in black) for my Nexus 7. AT&T has both white and black in stock for $24.00 with free shipping.

So looks like Best Buy will be releasing the Nexus 5 tomorrow - and it will cost $449 for the 16 GB off contract.

My question is - since they price match to Amazon, why wouldn't they price match to Google Play? My GS4 just sold so I'm kinda in phone limbo atm.....still gonna be another 3-4 weeks before I get mine from the Play Store and my order hasn't even processed yet (4 days after making it).

I might go in and ask and report back - unless someone else already has tried?

EDIT: Looks like this is only for the Sprint variant......ugh. Oh well. Guess I'll be waiting a while then.

There really is no "Sprint" version. It's all the same phone. 1 US variant and 1 International version.

Awesome!! Thank you!!!

Having a hard time deciding which phone to keep. The Nexus 5 or the iPhone 5s.

Can't really justify keeping both so one will have to go.

At the moment the money is on dropping the the Nexus. I need to connect my phone to our exchange server at work and a few times the Nexus has stopped retrieving emails for no apparent reason whilst the iPhone is still receiving them. It seems to sort itself out after a couple of reboots but seems a bit unreliable.

Anyone else have the same problem and know of a fix? This is using the standard build in mail app btw.

I'll probably give it a few more days but have already noticed that CEX will buy it for the same price I paid.

I've also got this nasty feeling I'll end up missing the iPhone. I've been here far too many times, the wife thinks I've got a phone "problem" :)

Decisions...decisions...

I'm keeping both my 5S and my Nexus 5, I think that will satisfy the sickness for a couple of months. I have a feeling I will end up selling the IP5s, it's so primitive and makes me feel like I'm in 1994, but I'll be damned it Apple doesn't always pull me back in eventually.

Thank you. A little more then what I'd like to spend but that does look bad ass.

Awesome. Thank you, both. AT&T offers free pick up in store so I'll do that. For $25, I'll pick one up for the home and office.

I ordered a couple of these. Should arrive today -- I'll post my impressions.

Anyone have an opinion which one of these is better? The amazon one says it doesn't work with the N4, I wonder why, and if that would affect it working on the N5.

I'd probably sell the 5s now and wait for next years iPhone. Feel like apples going to release something big next year with the 6.

Yeah, I anticipate going back to Apple with the ip6, it's impossible they don't have a larger screen.

But I must say with Kit Kat Google really seems like they are pushing the envelope. I've never been as comfortable with an Android OS as much as KitKat, it's finally getting streamlined and simplified in all the right places. I'm quite curious what Google comes out with next year to combat the IP6 as they must be smart enough to know just how big it's going to be. Google better release something really insane.

Changing email address on Google account

Forgive the non-Nexus question here, but I don't know where to get the answer. I've googled this to no avail.

I now own a Nexus 5 & 7. I bought them (and the apps on them) using my Google account. That account was registered using an email address that will soon be disabled. I tried editing the account and putting in my newly created gmail address. But I get an error saying that you can't associate a gmail address with this count.

I would prefer to just change the email on the account (to my new gmail address). But if I can't do that, what should I do?

Thanks for any advice.

I just sold my year old iPhone 5.
Paid for my Nexus 5!
Love not having to pay a thousand dollars (with taxes) for a smartphone.

If you're going to root it, I'd do so now before you've set too much up. It's trivial to do so.

As long as the charger says it is Qi certified, then it will work with the N4/N5 and N7 (2013 version). I have serveral versions from China (one of mine looks very similar to the link you provided) and it works perfectly. Only issue is, when your phone reaches 100% on the battery it stops charging and won't charge any more. So, don't expect to see 100% in the morning.

Other cheap versions also beep when the phone reaches 100%, then it stops charging until the phone reaches 99%, then it starts charging again with a beep. This will be extremely annoying at night.

Cool. I ordered the Nokia one, it looks kind of small and unobtrusive.

No idea how big the Nokia one is, just remember, you have to set the phone on the charger in one spot, otherwise no charging starts.

I downloaded the Lightflow app on the Nexus 5 and set it up so that I get a nice llong fade in and out orange glow on the Nexus 5 LED, just to give me a positive indication that it is charging and continues to charge. Once the phone reaches 95%, I have the LED stop blinking.

Didn't read ahead so someone might have already replied but I just bought the Nokia wireless charger from AT&T for 25 bucks. Works great.

With the Nokia charger I bought that's not a huge issue. It takes the phone at any angle and mostly even if it's off center

Use a non gmail account? Hotmail?Live.com etc?

I liked lightflow, but it annoyed me to no end that you could not squelch the status bar icon. I'm a huge status bar icon snob and won't use programs which don't let you hide it.

Just a heads up.

Ordered the Nokia wireless charging plate from AT&T.

If you order 1, it's $24.50

If you order 2, you save an additional 10% on each charger

If you order 3, you save an additional 25% on each charger.

Just ordered 3, came out to $59.55 after tax.

That's $19.85 total for each one!

I'll place one my desk at home and at the office, and the third can go in the living room. :D

No icon in my status bar? I haven't used this app before since this has been a mod in all my ROM's, so based on your comment, I am assuming this app used to have a persistent icon. I don't have one, nor does one show up when I get a notification.
