It's the same as the Nexus 4. The 16GB N4 was $349.

Great point. But it's also a shame there isn't a sub-$300 version for those who are really budget conscience.

I'd be for more options both ways. 8gb for $299 and a 64gb version for $449.

I can dream. ;)

Currently using 9gb out of 16gb on my iPhone 5. That's with several large apps I could easily delete that I never use. I use the cloud for everything. I'm actually surprised I'm using this much space. I'm going with the 16gb and I'm going to use that extra $50 on an official wireless charger.
I must admit, I haven't thought about using the cloud for storage... but I really should. What do you suggest keeping "up there" on the cloud? And which cloud do you use?

I used to keep all my data in the cloud. Then I went to China and on the airplane over and the whole time I was there I couldn't access any of my music. Never again.

LTE for use in the US?

When those chinese phones are available for US bands I'll say it matters. But they don't do us any good out there, it's a different market and I'm sure many different things go into their pricing.

The only thing I'm disappointed with is the 2300 battery. My G2 has seriously spoiled me and I don't know if I can go back to having to charge my phone during the day. Also it's a camera downgrade for me.

I use a combination of things but mostly these listed below.

Google for notes, calendar, contacts, files (drive formally google docs)

Spotify for almost all of my music. The paid version allows for offline storage of playlists so you don't eat up your data plan. ( or go through that problem above of flying to china with no music. Ouch, sorry you had to go through that)

Dropbox for pretty much all my photos and videos.

It's nice because whenever I switch phones all my stuff is "there" because it's in the cloud.

While I agree that Spotify allowing you to download music to the device is a nice feature you still need the space to do that. With the way phones are going today that is going to become harder and harder to do.

Absolutely. But is it compressed? I have 23 albums synced for offline playback and spotify is using 1.3 gigs on my phone. Is that normal music storage size? I'm not sure.

Are we sure this will be the same physical size as the N4 or even smaller? I just find that hard to believe. I also wonder if it will any thinner than the N4. Why wouldn't they make the camera flush with the back? It seems strange that it would stick out.

I wish Samsung would do this! If they did, I'd be more open to going the way of the Galaxy S brand.

Also, even if the Nexus 5 32GB prices out at $449, I wonder what/if carriers will sell for

I'll have to do some research to see if the music is compressed. I know right now I have 27 gigs of music on my phone. I don't listen to all of it all the time but it's good to have a blast from the past sometimes with my songs.

That would make my Nexus 5 vs 64GB iPhone 5 decision much easier to make, and I could finally stop carrying around a phone and ipod.

With minimal music (say, 4GB or so) how far would a 16GB Nexus really go? Does Android + a few apps normally take up 1-2 GB of the total amount available?

Typically, 16GB should leave you anywhere from 12-13GB of usable storage.

Right, Nexus 4 owners?

Wow that's a lot. No need to research unless you just want to.

My primary concern with a Nexus phone is battery life. I will wait to see reviews of battery life. Crossing my fingers that the reviews will be good.

I'm selling my GS4 for sure.

Ya - I figure I'll have to.....a shame since I bought all these accessories for it....kinda feel bad! haha....

Figure with an S-View cover, Spigen Slim Armor case, extra battery and charger, and a 64 GB microSD card to go along with the 16 GB phone itself, I'll be trying to get somewhere in the neighborhood of $550 for the lot.

Ya, I thinking I'll sell mine for $400 and get the Nexus 5 in 32GB's.

Just waiting for it to go on sale...
