I pretty much stream everything right now. I have gone through so many replacement Nexus 4s that I never had a lot of pictures locally. And moving them from one phone to another was never a problem with Copy's PhotoCopy and G+ auto upload. And then all my music is on Google Music. All my movies and TV shows are streamable through Plex at any time. I'm not really one to use up a lot of internal storage on a phone. So I will probably go with 16GB. Unless of course that rumor of a 32GB 3000 mAh option comes true. Which I think at this point we can all agree won't be happening.

I hear ya. I dont like to stream my music. I dont like the interuptions if in a bad signal area and i dont have an office job so i like to have it on the device.

That would be great if the 32GB has a bigger battery but even if it doesnt, it wont matter. Im still going to get the bigger one. Its only $50.

Streaming is never a big deal where I live. But if it is, Google Music automatically downloads played songs and upcoming songs. And since I mostly listen to the same playlist, even if I don't have service, I will have all my songs already on my device without having to ever make an effort to transfer them over.

Anybody thinking the Nexus 5 will offer a high fps video option to compete with the 5s?

I see. Yeah im picky when i get a new one since i keep them a while and dont like to have multiple phones. Im not a fan of HTC so i wasnt interested in the One. I was interested in the N4 but the glass back turned me of to it and then the reported bad battery life so i skipped it. I also didnt jump for the S4. Just didnt excite me enough and perhaps i wasnt ready to get an upgrade yet. I am now

I would not say I keep phones for a long time, but I am started to be more responsible and trying to think practically.

I was like you with HTC. Never was a big fan of sense until I tried the One. I have to say it is the best phone all around that I have ever had. I love my nexus 4 as well, but I just missed LTE. I switch from time to time between the two keep things fresh. I am not going to totally count myself out of the running for the N5. I am just going to be cautious. The early leaks have given me time to think about whether I need to get the phone or not. I still think it will be great. Just don't know if I should spend the money.

Play Store 4.4 version APK here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-play-store-4-4-21-with-slide-out-navigation/

Just installed it on my One. The slide out bar is nice, but it makes me wonder why they didn't just throw the "Settings" and "Help" in there too and just get rid of the three dot menu bar upper right.

Sort of weird splitting those things up. Whateva, Google.

Now if they could just start making this more consistent across all their apps that'd be great.

Come on Google, announce this thing! I'm about to be stuck with a flip phone until then...a smartwatch would be nice as well.

I could never do that. I get sick of music VERY quickly, just listening to a song once or twice does it. I need the variability of streamed music where you rarely hear the same song.

So the founder of modaco.com tweets this earlier today:
"Many weeks ago my sources told me that Google wanted to announce the Nexus 5 as Apple do their event. Guess we'll find out tonight…!"

It sounds crazy but we shall see.

New iPads, MBPs, and Nexus 5 in one day? That would be awesome.

Don't forget the Lumias announced earlier today. Certainly for this to make sense, they should also announce the Nexus 10 to sell as an iPad killer since it's more the iPad day for Apple than any other Apple product.

That would be awesome.......somebody pinch me....i'm dreaming again....

LOL that would so make my day! Please also let them be waiting outside after Apple's presentation with free KitKat bars for everyone XD

Good news, everyone!

Google buys French company FlexyCore to make Android more buttery
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/22/google-buys-flexycore-to-make-android-more-buttery/

Though Google made significant strides in smoothing out Android performance with Project Butter, apparently it's not yet satisfied. According to L'Express, Mountain View has just purchased French firm FlexyCore for €16.9 million ($23.1 million). That company made its name with software like DroidBooster, which improves the speed of apps running Android without increasing battery drain. A Google spokesman in France said that the business is already integrated with its Android teams, and confirmed that the software will "help optimize the performance of (Android) on mobile devices." Whether it'll bear fruit in the soon to be released Android 4.4 KitKat remains to be seen -- but given Google's promise that the new OS will make even low-spec phones sing, we wouldn't be surprised.

I saw that. I have to admit I was more confused than ecstatic. Overall good news but does this mean Kit Kat will be delayed now? And so will the Nexus 5? Or is this already implemented in 4.4 or will it be added to 4.4.1?

No one really knows but based on several reports, Google's apparently been acquiring them for a year or more and their teams have already merged and worked together.

Does this mean KitKat or 5.0? Don't know.

I don't think any delay of KitKat and the Nexus 5, if there is one, will have anything to do with this acquisition.

----------

"The WSJ reported in June that KitKat will lower the barrier to entry in terms of hardware requirements, and even Google’s KitKat teaser page seems to suggest something along that line: “it’s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everyone”."

So maybe KitKat will be even smoother without draining anymore battery.

Now that Apple's had their time in the light, we're ready, Google. Super duper ready.

I sure wish they would hurry up, but everything we are seeing is for an announcement next week right?

I just think the leaks got out way to early this year. We pretty much know everything about it already, and now we are just waiting for Google to let us buy them. I just wish they would hurry up.

Yeah, I just want it announced so reviews and impressions can start coming. We already know virtually everything there is to know about this device.

In terms of news, Kit Kat will be far more interesting than the hardware.
