Yeah, I just want it announced so reviews and impressions can start coming. We already know virtually everything there is to know about this device.

In terms of news, Kit Kat will be far more interesting than the hardware.

Yea I think so too. I want to see what Kit Kat has to offer. I am still very happy with my HTC One, and I still have my N4. So if the N5 is not a big upgrade I can wait. I want to see battery life, and the one main complaint I had with my N4 was my cell strength was not so good. I would just drop cell service for no good reason. If they can put a better chip in the new one that would be huge for me.

Based on the previous Nexus device releases, are they typically released along side an OS update?

At this point I could care less about the Nexus 5 announcement. I just wanna see the new damn 4.4 update and all of that chocolate Kit Kat goodness. I'm already liking the new unified design (slide out menus) and the transparency is looking sexy on the N5 press images.

I'm not sure Kit Kat will bring many exclusive features. It seems the biggest updates will be pushed out to the Play Store.

Agreed on Play Store updates, but I definitely think there's plenty under the hood enhancements that we haven't heard about yet. They've kept Kit Kat pretty well guarded so far

I could never do that. I get sick of music VERY quickly, just listening to a song once or twice does it. I need the variability of streamed music where you rarely hear the same song.

LOL, i know 1,300 isnt a lot for some but i know there are some songs in there that i havent heard YET. I have it on random so that isnt a problem for me and if i have a repeat that i dont want to hear i just hit the next button.

The same songs for the most part on on my Google music and then there are those tunes that Google has added for me and most of those i do not like like and have deleted many of them. So, at least the tunes i put on there in the phone myself i know i like.

Question: were the FCC dimensions of the nexus 5 smaller and thinner than the HTC one dimensions? Does anyone happen to know? Just curious but also...

I'm taking a long look at my HTC one and I'm honestly having a hard time potentially letting it go. It's a beauty of a device and though its camera sucks tremendously, it's still been a great phone.

The nexus 5 may be a harder sell than I thought. The reviews will have to rock.

Off the top of my head, the dimensions are about the same between the two devices. Unless there is some major flaw on the N5, I'll be replacing my HTC One.

Okay, Apple is out the way with reveals and news till the next WWDC.

It's about time for Google to stop pissing about with leaks, sneak peaks, and marketing collaborations and actually show some product.

Where is Kit Kat and Nexus 5?

Well, I feel that since late last week, the big sites and bloggers have been really quiet about the Nexus 5, to the point where it is suspicious. Artem Russakovskii on Android Police had a rumor every day, and now he don't mention it at all.

So my "conspiracy" right now is that all the tech sites got the invitations for the Google Play event, but that they were not supposed to announce it to their readers, and therefor geek.com removed it, and AP went out and said that there was no news at all to be revealed.

I just find it weird that non of the sites would wonder why they have a Google Play event without any news what so ever, when we are so close to a new release of Nexus and Kit Kat. Why don't they dig deeper? They were all over it a week ago, but now, nothing.

Yeah, it's awkward now. We haven't heard anything about the N5 since last week. It's like they know something but not saying. Hopefully, it's released tomorrow night, and it's in outer hands by next week.

Totally agree. I think my HTC one is the best smartphone I have owned to date. This N5 is going to have blow it out if the water. I am sure I will buy at later on down the road, but to get me to part with the One. This thing has to be amazing.

For what it's worth, the Kit Kat Google plus page hasn't yet got its daily post/teaser for today. I've noticed over the past week that they usually add a post every working day around 10GMT.

It'd be nice for it to come out today already... every morning I check to see if anything new has been mentioned or speculated about but there's been surprisingly little as of late.

Maybe something's wrong. Google having issues with production chain or shipments or something. Let the theories fly. Nothing else better to do!

This is an interesting theory. I was wondering too why geek.com was the ONLY tech site that got the invite? That makes zero sense. Maybe you are right. Geek wasn't supposed to reveal that invite?

Interesting. The sudden radio silence is perplexing. There's also the chance that there's simply nothing else to leak about this device -- we pretty much know everything about it.

Either way, the "event" is tomorrow, so we shall see.

Wait, was it? That really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If noone else says they got the invite then I'll definitely go with the theory that geek.com squealed and got told to shut up, and that something big is coming tomorrow that the other sites are simply keeping quiet about.

And if so, maybe AP went out and said that thing about "no big stuff whatsoever" just to create more drama. I mean, it would be pretty cool if the Nexus 5 came out just a few days after Apple's event and stole a good chunk of the attention they're getting.

Otherwise the only possibility I can think of is that Google had planned the event for the 24th but then cancelled due to it being too close to the Apple event...or because they royally botched something about the release  ...but then someone went ahead and sent the invite anyway to geek.com by mistake.

Yep. No one less reported that invite except them. And then they took it down. Weird.

Yes, I suspect Kit Kat to be the culprit. The hardware doesn't contain anything new and the parts can be easily found with no shortages in different phones anyway. I reckon the N5 parts are held behind the assembly line awaiting the final release of Kit Kat so that they can get flashed by the end of the assembly.

I mean how tight is Google and LG security? If the phone was already made we'd have seen more than a presumably empty retail box and a bunch of pictures and videos of alleged prototypes.

I just prefer that Google holds its event and like Apple not give an exact date and say release in November; at any point in November so that I, and others, can see the specs and price and decide if we should wait or get another phone instead of trying to find the next rumor.
