Have you ever considered asking someone from the UK to ship one across to you?

Your assuming we have people in the UK that will do that. Sadly I don't.

Likewise we would need to access Google play store from a UK IP Address otherwise we just get not supported region message if we event try to look at hardware.

Then there is the question of if we had a UK address and a UK IP do we have a credit card with a registered UK address or likewise we likely will be unable to even process the order once more.

Yep Google make it so easy for Irish customers to buy their hardware.... not :( :(

And after we made it so easy for them to dodge taxes ;)

Yeah I wish Google would open up the Play Store in more countries. Their EMEA HQ is in Dublin but no support here.. Same thing with Apple.

Yep but at least we have resellers for Apple and last number if years it's become so much easier than it was a decade ago to buy Apple products with the likes of PC World and Harvey Norman carrying Apple stuff too.

But yeah still amazes me they dont have at least 1 of their own apple stores perhaps in Dublin...

Nexus 4 LTE 16GB: $279
Nexus 4 LTE 32GB: $329

Nexus 5 LTE 16GB: $349
Nexus 5 LTE 32GB: $399

Where did you get these prices?

The more I step back and look at the bigger picture, the more plausible an LTE-equipped Nexus 4 is going to sell along the Nexus 5. And not just any Nexus 4, but possibly a redesigned Nexus 4.

I'm as skeptical as anyone, but here's where it's coming from:

1) FCC filing shows a new Nexus device similarly sized to the Nexus 4, but with Nexus 5 (and 7) design language -- the matte plastic back (which I love by the way). We all thought this was the Nexus 5 with edge to edge to fit the 5-inch screen. But we've now seen multiple leaks of a Nexus 5 that is much larger. What was the "smaller" FCC filing then? Is it legal for Google to submit specs to the FCC to "throw off" leaks? A fake trail? Maybe.

2) Weren't there multiple Nexus code names discovered? Something like up to four different code names? In the past, these code names (usually named after certain types of fishes, I think?) always meant Nexus devices. Are we looking at a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10, and another Nexus-thing, if all those four names are legit? Maybe these are just black and white variations or storage size variations (by why would each of these variations get their own code name?).

3) Evleaks recent leaked photo. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean the Nexus 4 is redesigned or now equipped with LTE -- it could just mean they've made more of the same Nexus 4 from last year. Evleaks isn't perfect, but he is an extremely reliable leaker, especially when release date/event date gets closer and closer. Maybe this isn't even for America, so who knows.

4) This isn't the first time we've heard the possibilities of the Nexus 4 being sold again. Is it all from the same [false] leaker? That's possible. But if these leaks are from different sources, it may say something.

Again, nothing is for sure, but at the same time, we shouldn't write off the possibility of this. It could explain why we've seen such a wide range of leaks with sizes from as small, if not smaller, than the Nexus 4, and then as big as the LG G2; or why we've heard of two different battery sizes (2300, 3000); or why there's been such a wide range on pricing leaks. Or, like others have pointed out, it might be misdirection, poor leaks, etc.

Who knows. If it does become true, that'd be a brilliant move by Google. It gives people even more [affordable] options. At the end of the day, it's still a Nexus device that'll get updates from Google, but priced below $299.

In many ways, Google is pulling an iPhone 5C with the Nexus 4 LTE, except pricing it far more competitively.

That would be awesome. A truly updated nexus 4 (2013). I would rather have that than the nexus 5..especially at those prices.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if any of the specs would be updated, too, if this became true.

For example, would the Nexus 4 have a better camera?

This might explain why the original leak said the LTE-equipped Nexus 4 would be priced at $299, which didn't make sense to us because why would just adding LTE bump the price up from $199 (during the fire sale) to $299?

New specs might be the answer to that.

I guess that is possible, but it would be odd to upgrade the hardware in an existing phone AND produce a brand new model. Hopefully we find out soon enough.

plus that would explain the early FCC filings like you mentioned. All of those photos were of a phone about the same size as the n4.

It's my understanding the 5C is just a 5 with a plastic back instead of metal. The 5S is a 5 with hardware upgrades.
A hardware updated Nexus 4 would be the equivalent of the 5S.
So if there is a hardware updated 4 and new Nexus 5 that would have been like Apple releasing both a iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 together. I'm not saying it's not possible I'm just saying its impressive if that's what in fact happens. I hope you're right.

Good point. I guess it depends what this Nexus 4 LTE will be, if anything at all.

I wouldn't get your hopes too high on this! We shall see.

What he said was a newly designed Nexus 4, that would be just like a 5c. Activating the LTE chip isn't that big of a hardware redesign like the iPhone 5 vs 5s was.

I too believe they are doing a 5c/5s scheme with the n4/n5

Maybe the phone will be marketed as the Google+ phone. Hence the morning with Google+....

Wishful thinking!
