I have a feeling we will have some type of Google event like this on Youtube for the N5 and 4.4 on Thursday, then for sale on afterwards. In my opinion, that would make sense instead of sending out invites and all that other stuff.

Yeah, it does make sense. There is no need for a large event for the media when you can do it live streamed. If they do that, then we should hear something about it tomorrow or Thursday, assuming that it is going to be this week. (Fingers and toes crossed.)

This particular specification makes me cringe. That battery is tiny for a screen that size.

I believe the LG G2 (and by proxy the Nexus 5 will have) the new SiO+ battery tech that is going into the Nexus 5. Combine that with the new more power efficient CPU, BT 4.0 LE and any advancements in screen tech and I am sure battery life will be comparable to competing handsets.

If that were true LG would have used a small battery in the G2. I'm inclined to think LG threw in a huge battery for a reason.

That makes sense....they still have the Nexus 4 in the play store.....just out of stock...check back later.

When the Nexus 5 showed up in the Play Store, it replaced the Nexus 4. There is zero chance of an updated Nexus 4. We now have FCC details, leaked manual, leaked Play Store... all are Nexus 5. The FCC listing had the wrong dimensions, but it was the Nexus 5.

A difference to take into account is the manufacturer skin/feature set. Those factor into the consumption of the battery life. Just look at Samsung. :p

How did they have the wrong dimensions? It was literally next to a ruler.

So then these listings with Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 are wrong?

Humans aren't perfect. The person measuring it could have been going fast and made a mistake. I can only guess, but I assume that the dimensions aren't the most important thing to the FCC when they're testing radios. It was clearly the Nexus 5, though. We've seen it in many pictures now, and the model number the FCC has matches up with the leaked Nexus 5 manual.

There is no reason for the Nexus 4 to disappear from their system just because they have the Nexus 5. I imagine that if someone did a search for past phones they'd still show up, even if they're no longer in stock. Companies don't delete a product from the system just because they no longer have it. The Galaxy Nexus still shows up in the Play Store.

There have been no leaks that would indicate a new Nexus 4. New radios would mean it would need to be recertified by the FCC and would likely have a new model number to differentiate it from the exiting Nexus 4. Unless that happens in the next couple days, don't expect a new Nexus 4. They can't just add new radios and put it up for sale. The Bluetooth certification that started new rumors last week was for the current Nexus 4, LG E960, and that has happened several times over the last year.

No worries....we will find out in just a couple of days.....

I made a chart of recent phones to compare the size of the Nexus 5. All of the dimensions are from GSM Arena, and they are ordered by height.

So, actually bigger than an HTC One and longer/thicker than an S4, yet a smaller battery. I loved the thought of the device based on the previously FCC leaked dimensions, not as excited about this size device. Certainly not terrible, just nothing special. Really puts into perspective what a good job Motorola did with the X's form factor.

It would be weird to have that size phone with such a small battery.

Lava lamp is definitely right to be skeptical. We don't really know anything.

Just possibilities. I think the nexus 4 is possible but also said to not get any hopes up.

yeah, what would the price be for a n4 now? still 199 or 249? it'd have to be. any higher and you run into apple's problem with their iphone cheap. imo i think google should stick to one phone.
