I wish they'd give a release date for Best Buy. I can't decide if I should order now or wait for the store to get it. I have enough money on a gift card to almost completely cover the phone.

Unless you'll be at BB within an hour, may want to cancel now and replace the order in the Play store later. Per my last post with Google, you only have one hour to cancel an order.

Yep, I've already looked at my bank account. What they do is put a hold on the money and then actually withdraw it when it ships.

Ah, no worries then. Worst case, I'm out $10 for shipping.

It's just not fair, I can't even look at it ...

Same issue here, but I'm going to the US next week so I know what I'll be ordering while there :)

Edit: Argh! The US version doesn't support LTE bands 3 or 7! I wonder whether I can get one from Australia...

God it was hard not to pull the trigger.

Quote from the verge :-(

"Speaking of rendering, the old bugbear of Android has always been scrolling performance. Especially in Chrome, there's always been a sense of lag that seemed completely out of place on top-tier devices. On the Nexus 5, we're very sad to report that the situation doesn't seem any better. There is still not a one-to-one relationship between your finger and the screen, and it's still crazy-making."

At Best Buy? I'd wait! That way you can hear reviews too just in case.

Unless you know you have other things you'll buy at BB soon...

What do you think? Order it off Sprint or Google Play?

If you're on Sprint, probably Sprint. I don't know if the Play versions have Sprint's radios. They probably don't. They're probably for GSM.

So it looks like this "always on" feature isn't really "always." More just whenever you are on the home screen. And it has to be the Google home screen, not NOVA. At least that is what I am getting from all this.

Just spoke to a guy at Best buy in the Atlanta metro area and he said he doesn't know when they will be selling them but they don't have any in stock and didn't receive any today...

I don't have anything else to buy. My only fear is that it'll be the Sprint or T-Mobile carrier offerings like they currently offer for the Nexus 4 at a higher price.

KitKat is cool, though it's been at least 4 years and Google still can't figure out scrolling physics. The Nexus is admirably cheap, but it's hard to get excited about the hardware in my opinion. Taller, wider, and thicker than the S4 (also plastic), and yet a smaller capacity battery. Pretty ugly too. But I want to see KitKat in action, all of the hands on are text only.

as far as i know best buy here in canada doesnt sell unlocked phones - anyone know different?

Just went to best buy mall of GA and was told they get a shipment tonight of products so could have it to sell tomorrow.

Alrighty good. And I'm sure Sprint will have plenty of stock for the 32GB Nexus 5 (still cant decide whether white or black) I'm going to hold off til the reviews start coming especially from The Verge

You think so?

I think this easily qualifies as the best looking Nexus device we've seen.

I personally love the feeling of my Nexus 7's back, so I think I'll love it here too. Planning to go naked with it if I do get it.

Almost pulled the trigger on the 32GB Black, but i'll wait and see what the reviews say. If positive I think it will be time for me to switch from the iPhone 5.

Double check the facts. I'm merely speculating. Not positive.

My local Best Buy said that it isn't in the system yet, so they don't know when it will be available or how much it will cost.

Engadget says you can wake it just like the MX?

If it can't be used with Nova launcher, that would suck.

Engadget doesn't really specify. This is straight from the Nexus 5 page on Google Play:

Powered by Android 4.4, KitKat.
Android is fast and powerful yet simple to use. From the home screen, say “Ok Google” to start a voice search, get directions or play a song.

They weren't accurate for the Nexus 4. I doubt they will be for the Nexus 5. But FWIW, I wasn't too far off...

Its also worth mentioning for WiFi browsing time, Google's disclaimer says they did that in Airplane Mode with WiFi on. So it won't be like that in real world use.

I managed to order a Black 32GB. Hopefully this goes better than the Nexus 4 fiasco.

Time to sell the Note II. No more hardware home buttons. Yay!:D
