No microcard slot on the Galaxy Nexus is kind of a big deal to me. The Nexus S didnt have one either. Damn it i really want ICS too. Well we shall see come November as to when devices like Galaxy S2 will be getting ICS.

Tough decision. I really want the Microslot since i have all my music on it and it just makes it more expandable. But i also want ICS. G Nexus is a bit narrower than GS2 but a bit longer.

The battery is smaller than the 2000+mAh rumored. That monster resolution is going to suck some serious juice.

It's 1800mAh I think, which should make it through the day just fine.

What's the storage capacity? I can't seem to find that anywhere... (AndroidCentral has it listed as 12004GB )

I think the Nexus Prime battery is smaller than the SGII, which is 1800mAh. The SGII battery barely lasted till the end of the day. Add in an HD screen now...

Surely the S2 will eventually get ICS, so bar the 720p display is there any real benefits of getting the GN instead? Curious to see what the actual reviews say, with an "early November" release date, I'm guessing that we'll see a a lot more details soon.

It's pretty easy to get a microSD card reader, plug it into your computer, and just copy and paste it to the Galaxy Nexus..

It is a bit odd though, an open device that's meant to define Android and don't have a MicroSD slot?

Hopefully the $299 Verizon model will be the 32gb and not the 16.. that would sting a bit... though I'm not in any danger of filling the 16gb card on my Droid.

Oh my!!! It's so big!

Good thing AT&T has a 30 day guarantee.

Once this hits the stores my 4S might be goin back.

I would love to watch movies and read magazines on that huge screen

Have they announced that this is coming to AT&T? I thought it was a Verizon exclusive in the states and I don't have high hopes that the international unlocked version will have AT&T's 3G bands.

IIRC, there was another phone that didn't have one either ; the Nexus S doesn't have one. Meh; in theory it's great to have but... I dunno, I don't miss it on my 4 S and I've been using the phone day in and day out.

Actually, with Android, what I did was just use dropbox and sync songs photos and videos to the device wirelessly, and use a document manager to move the files around to where I wanted.

Is this going to be a Verizon only exclusive for now? I saw that they showed off Verizon LTE so I guess it's safe to say, they are getting it first. Verizon always gets the top Android devices though.

I think Verizon only for now. Probably coming to AT&T next year.

They always get the top Android devices? All carriers have the Galaxy S 2; before now Sprint and Tmobile got the Nexus S; Tmobile got the sensation and Sprint got the Evo.

AT&T has probably te weakest overall lineup of exclusives, but they had the only iPhone so there's the reasoning for that.

Verizon usually get them first.

GS2 battery is 1850, GN is 1750

Not so. Tmobile til now got teh Nexus first and it was exclusive to Tmobile when Android first came out and the first two nexus phones.

The battery is a large concern for me too. I wonder how well battery optimization is for ICS. 1750mAh sounds too small for such a large screened device; and with the LTE versions, I can't imagine...

No carriers have been announced.

Engadget said:
The leaks let us know it's coming to Verizon too, and its pentaband with AWS and HSPA+ means it will play nicely with AT&T and T-Mobile once it's released as well. It's over and we're still without any additional carrier announcements, exact release dates or pricing.

Yup. LTE speed is fantastic on Verizon, however every LTE device to date has had terrible battery life. I don't think the updated chipsets for LTE are expected to be out until early next year, so unless ICS optimization is really good, I don't expect battery life on a device like this to be very good. But I will reserve judgement until the real world tests are done.

Using Launcher Pro does that as well and it has a scrollable dock to load icons on to it if you want to hide them from the screen....like say your gallery. You can put it on your scrollable dock and it will be gone from the screen.

It has been a while since I used Android (and Launcher Pro), but does it hide the apps in drawer as well?
I think with the ICS app disabling, we don't even have to worry about the bloatware running in background by itself...if we are to get a non Nexus ICS phone.

Apparently, the LTE version of the Galaxy Nexus will be slightly thicker. They wouldn't say whether it's because of a larger battery or not.

Some cool features in Android - watched the event streaming on youtube last night. The Galaxy Nexus Prime or whatever it's being called now - that's almost a tablet. It's got very powerful specs and all - but way too big for a cell phone. ICS looks sweet though.

Not impressed with the Camera. I looked at some sample photos and it did not look good. It did not look bad, but it is below my expectations.

1080P video Recording looked pretty decent.

Love the screen, but 4.65 is little bit too big. Guess we shall see.

I will get this, but I won't get it at launch. I will wait until AT&T rolls out more LTE support here in the US. It will be most likely launch on Verizon first, then go to AT&T. Eventually, it will go to Sprint.

I think we have to wait to get more information about the camera. thisismynext.com published a few snapshots made by GN and iPhone 4S. There are cases where GN camera clearly has an advantage:

Galaxy Nexus:

But clearly we can not judge much based on such a limited sample.
