Wow what is this world coming to.

I have to say this is some of the most idiotic, mindless & simpleminded thinking that I have ever heard of. No person or organization should be allowed to tell anyone which headphones they should or should not be allowed to wear. If I was the players of the NFL I would flat out tell the NFL that if you don't like the type of head phones I am wearing then you can shove it.

To me I think both both Bose and Beats head phones are junk but that is my personal opinion and no one can take that away from me.

If players want to listen to Beats then so be it and if the want to listen to Bose or any other company's headphones then they can do so.

This is just another example of why I hate all of the major league sports organizations as they are nothing but greedy *****S!!!

Huh? I don't understand your point. Of course there are audio engineers that engineer music.

I believe the competency of modern day audio engineers, labels and producers is sorely lacking. They are so worried about dynamic compression and making the song sound loud that I'm completely befuddled why they insist on neutral sounding headphones in the first place. After all, the dynamic compression that they introduce into the final mix completely kills any sort of true sound that may have been there to begin with.

Are you saying that an audio engineer needs neutral headphones so he can more accurately destroy a song with dynamic compression? Are you saying that an audio engineer needs neutral sounding headphones so he can more accurately introduce dynamic compression into the song?

I can roll my eyes at your statement as well. My personal belief is that audiophiles are snobs that do nothing but troll and talk ****. Who really cares if I like Koss headphones or Beats headphones or Sony headphones or Bose headphones or any other number of other brands? Are you paying my bills or funding my audio purchases? Are you tasked with monitoring the value of my expenditures? Do you really care that I listen to Beats headphones or do you just want to talk ****? I think you just want to troll and stir the pot.

I simply enjoy bass in my headphones. I also enjoy slightly exaggerated bass in my headphones as well. I like to feel the sound pressure levels vibrate my ear drums. I like to feel the percussion inside my head. I like the way the bass notes make me feel. This is how I maximize my music listening enjoyment.

I don't understand why people like you feel the need to try and tell people like me that we're wrong. If listening to wimpy, neutral sound is the definition of an audiophile then I absolutely do not ever want to be an audiophile. I like music that has personality and my Beats Studio Wireless headphones deliver the personality I'm looking for in an attractive fashion.

I'm perfectly comfortable with you wearing wimpy, accurate, neutral headphones so why aren't you comfortable with me wearing a brand of headphones that emphasizes the musical notes I find most pleasing?

The following video explains why I despise modern day audio engineers. They're the ones destroying the music, not Beats or Bose or any other brand of headphones that audiophile snobs hate.

So, Yes was the answer? Maybe you should get a job and replace them all.

BTW, I haven't said anything about your head or headphones, but you sure rant about others. Including me, and I haven't said anything about audio. Hence....IRONY.

Here, now I'll say something:
LOL, I just watched that video you posted. It describes what audiophiles care about, and contradicts everything you like!! I'm not sure you are following the issue as stated through to the proper conclusion. You can't put back dynamics lost from crap mixing by buying equipment that generically boosts 100-200Hz (this is what most Beats models do). And if you boost a better recording, you are making the same problem the video complains about! All you are doing is making part of the music louder. Maybe you need to shop for better recordings in the first place, then you'd understand why headphones (or any playback equipment) that don't alter the sound are better. My last purchase was all 4 SACDs by Diana Krall. No such problem there, on either the SACD or CD layers, using either big speakers or studio headphones.

And for the record, I've commented on the exact complaint in that video on these forums more than once, using Imagine Dragons as a reference of utterly horrible mixing. Bought that album as mp3 since there was no difference on the CD.

(BTW, Beats Studios boost bass far less than other Beats models. You may have failed to acquire what you really want. Almost the only difference between those and Sennheisers with the same freq chart is the cost. Sorry.)

Probably would have been a better deal to for the NFL to go with BEATS as an official sponsor. All the players are already wearing them. No need to enforce or implement any changes. Suckers.

If I was the players of the NFL I would flat out tell the NFL that if you don't like the type of head phones I am wearing then you can shove it.

I'm 99% sure that if you had a million dollar contract, you would do every single thing that organization told you to do without a hesitation. You know you would. Ha.

You could give me a million dollar contract and I would still tell the league to kiss my ass and put on any headphones that I wanted. Things like this bother me that much that I am willing to speak my mind. I guarantee that if players would band together to fight this they would win.

Bose paid for the right. Just like Nike or under armour or Gatorade. It's a for. If advertising. Nothing more.

It seems like a difficult concept for many here to understand. Of course the sensationalist headline," NFL players banned from wearing Beats headphones on camera" doesn't help either. The simple reality is, if a player wears headphones during the specified times, they have to be Bose. NO other brand. Beats wasn't soley banned, all other brands but Bose were. Bose paid more money than everyone else, so they got the deal.

Probably would have been a better deal to for the NFL to go with BEATS as an official sponsor. All the players are already wearing them. No need to enforce or implement any changes. Suckers.

If Beats paid more more than Bose, the NFL would have gone with them.

Then you would be fined or suspended for being in violation of your contract. The union represents the players in dealings with the league and owners. They have a signed deal and the union agreed to all the terms for the players. Plain and simple.

No offense, but every where you work there are restrictions on what you can and can't do. NFL players can tell the NFL to shove it. But of course, they can be removed from the league and the players association for violating the collective bargaining agreement. When you sign on as a part of the players association, you are required to follow the terms of the contract you agreed to. The players are restricted from wearing and displaying all sorts of things, btw. This is nothing new.

Whose ban again? This was 45min ago...

This would have been true a few years ago but not anymore, Apple is in an entirely different league now. The money Apple makes from Bose products will be minuscule compared to their overall retail strategy and there are so many genuine premium headphone brands out there that Apple doesn't need Bose to spruce up its store anymore.

They made a move against Beats (not their first in recent months) which means its a move against Apple as well. 3rd party brands need to know that if they make a move like this there are consequences.

I doubt Bose makes much off of Apple either relative to their other channels. The point is Bose is considered a "premium brand (arguments here notwithstanding)" by many consumers and Apple likes to have premium brands in its stores. Dropping one over a sponsorship deal is a really stupid move since the NFL del doesn't make much of a difference win term's of Apple's long term strategy; and quite frankly I doubt Apple even cares about Bose's sponsorship. The Beats sponsorships are a legacy of how beats marketed itself; and Apple has never been big on sponsorships so while they may continue them they probably are not a primary focus of why they bought Beats.

Apple is far more interested in going after companies that sell competing products and also are part of Apple's supply chain (Hi Samsung, How are you doing?) because they directly threaten Apple's revenue and Apple proabaly doest like giving them cash that is used to compete with Apple.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Richard Sherman was wearing his Beats last night on Monday night football. Loved it!:D

Then you wouldn't receive your million dollars with these terms. Does that change your attitude?

Blanket stupidity is stupid. Bose makes plenty of good products. I'll go out on a limb and say you haven't used a single one of them. Sit on a plane next to a screaming baby with and without a set of their Quiet Comforts and report back to me thanks.

Noise cancellation is something that's VERY useful in certain situations where there is a lot of ambient noise. There are also several types of headphones, most notedably there is open back and closed back, a good set of closed back headphones (even without noise cancellation is about 20 to around 30 dB of noise isolation.

The problem with noise canceling technology is that it effects the quality of sound that you are listening to and they generally don't sound as good with noise canceling technology. Some companies can isolation noise simply by making a closed back headphone or a ear bud that just isolates ambient noise with using noise cancellation.

And the term "good" is a subjective term. What one thinks is good, another doesn't.

Now, I've heard Bose products since they started selling the Bose 901's and I have spent a lot of time going to audio shows where they have the more serious audiophile products and have been in recording studios using a variety of headphones, etc. Generally speaking, Bose are more lower end consumer products that are actually kind of pricey for what they are. They are just really good at marketing and have always spent a LOT of money on marketing their products.

But if you want really good noise isolation AND good quality of sound, then i would recommend staying away from this noise cancellation based headphones and I would go with a closed back pair of headphones that had good isolation. A way you can tell is just put the headphones on with some outside noise, but don't plug the headphones in to the electronics. You'll find that there are plenty of closed back headphones that do a pretty good job isolating background noise if that's what you are looking for.

Colin Kaepernick was fined $10000 for wearing pink Beats headphones, in honor of his grandmother, who happens to be a breast cancer survivor. You know, that whole "wear pink in October" NFL campaign.

As a point of reference, it's $1732 cheaper to throw an intentional chop block that could end a player's career.

Colin Kaepernick was wearing the same pink Beats after the MNF game tonight as he had on last week, but with a piece of white tape covering the Beats logo. It'll be interesting to see what Roger Goodell has to say about that...
