I am an Eagles fan first, Broncos fan 2nd. I'd been hoping for a close game, both teams looking good, but a Philly win.

I got it, and an ulcer-fest to boot. Wow that was an ugly game.

I went to a minor league hockey game last night, and felt like I was a Giants fan watching their home game. Our team hosted a team from South Dakota who proceeded to smack us around like a pee-wee team.

I'm looking forward to the game tonight. I expect Minnesota to run amok, but you never know. Maybe Cutler will finally break out of his funk and complete some passes.

The Titans are out but I didn't expect much from a 7-7 team this late in the season. I kind of like them and hope they can end the season 8-8.

They're in the toughest division in the NFL. You can bet their record would have been much better if they were in any other division.

I think Indy will represent the AFC with no doubt in my mind.

Well, if anyone can beat them it's the Chargers. They're on a 10 game streak. Peaking late in the season is a good thing. Unlike last year's Titans who lost 3 straight before entering the playoffs.

The NFC will be more interesting since I see a real fight to represent that conference. It can be easy to say the New Orleans Saints are a shoe-in for getting into the Super Bowl, but the Vikings could rain on their parade.

My money is on the Vikings, especially if they can get All Day Peterson revved up again. This year's Saints looks like last year's Titans--fading late in the season. Losing the the Buc? The LAST place Bucs? I see a 3 game losing steak going into the playoffs and an second round exit. NFC championship will be between Vikes and either Philly or Cowpokes. Vikes to win.

I'm predicting Colts and Vikings in the Superbowl. Colts to win 42 to 35 in a shoot out of two of the greatest slingers in the game.

Chargers and Vikings in the Superbowl.
That would really make this a great NFL season for me.

I don't think it would have been that much better. The Titans haven't really beaten any good teams this year with the possible exceptions of Arizona (default winners of the NFC West, for all practical purposes) and the Dolphins (themselves returning to mediocrity after overachieving in 2008).

When the Colts pulled their starters in the third quarter against the New York Jets, they essentially pulled the plug on the possibility of a perfect season.

Since then, Indy radio shows have been flooded with callers and faxes from angry fans. Some said they wanted refunds. Others suggested the Colts didn't lose to the Jets, they forfeited. Analysts contend the Colts threw away a shot at history.
Jets fans have to realize that you got a gift from the Colts. No way you win that game if Payton stays in. It was essentially backing into the playoffs.

Facing Indy 2x a year doesn't do your record much good, unless they rest there starters.:p On the other hand, facing the Chiefs, Browns, Raiders, Lions, Rams 2x a year, that's an easy 2 wins.

Hopefully Cincy will do it's job and not rest its starters. I hated the Colts even more (if that's possible) after hearing the news. You know Belichick won't rest his starters...maybe Moss.:p Neither have anything to play for, IMO. Win or lose, they're both division champs and are both playing in the wildcard round.

The Colts already had the top spot clinched, but their starters still played 4 quarters against Jags. I hope Manning & Co. gets rusty from having a month off and Colts loses the very team whose playoff ticket they punched, the Jets. That would be poetic. I'd be rooting for the Chargers if my team doesn't make the playoffs.

I'm looking forward to the Eagles/Cowboy's game. Big, big game. Whoever wins is division champ. A playoff preview of two hot teams.

Well *I* didn't see the Bears winning that one tonight.

Wow.

Now, as a good Eagles fan, I expect one of two situations to unfold.

1: Eagles lose in Dallas, and then lose to Dallas in the playoffs. This will result in me puking blood.

2: Eagles win in Dallas, and then lose to Dallas in the playoffs. This will result in me puking blood, and running amok and dismembering people.

Have I mentioned how much I dislike the Cowboys? Granted, there are many other playoff possibilities, but I am always betting on the ulcer.

Either one of those would work for me..... That is ok, I dislike the Eagles!! Oh I really hate the Redskins and Giants too! :)

Vikings are looking like a team that peaked too soon..The Vikings defense has been exposed just like the Saints defense. Their secondary is horrible in coverage and especially against the speedy receivers that Chicago has. Losing EJ Henderson was a huge blow for them as well.
Devin Aromashodu looked great out there. If the Bears can get a great offensive mind as a HC and fix their O-line woes, they could be a lethal passing team with Aromashodu, Knox, Olsen, and Bennett.

Apparently not, since the Chiefs and Browns beat the Steelers and the Raiders beat the Eagles. The Titans have already beaten bad teams this year, they've yet to beat a good one. Every division has at least one good team.

Thinking Chargers and Eagles. If we beat the Cowgirls it could happen:) Born and raised in Philly what can I say:cool:

Peace

Read my post above. Neither the Viking or Saints are going to win the NFC.

So, it'll be either the Cowboys or Eagles or Cardinals. Either of the two scenarios you listed will happen though. Have I mentioned how much I hate the Eagles?

Really Rex are you that stupid.
Jets coach Rex Ryan feels his team isn’t getting any respect for its controversial 29-15 victory over the Colts on Sunday because quarterback Peyton Manning didn’t go the distance.
Manning was pulled with 5:36 left to play in the third quarter and the Colts leading by five points — 15-10. He completed 14 of 21 passes for 192 yards, no TDs and no INTs before exiting.
‘‘There’s very little credit that our football team’s given and that’s unfortunate,’’ Ryan said Monday. ‘‘It bothers me a little bit. You have to earn everything you get in this league. Whether you’re playing against a starter or backup, whatever.
‘‘For half the year, people played against our backup nose tackle (starter Kris Jenkins is out with a knee injury). I don’t think anybody’s made note of that. I know this is Peyton Manning or whatever, but he did play two-and-a-half quarters.
‘‘Again, that’s fine,’’ continued Ryan. ‘‘People can draw their own conclusions. But as I look at it, we won by 14 points. I think we were right there. We were fighting toe-to-toe with them. Our job is to try to get it done regardless of who is on the field.
‘‘Again, we make no apologies for getting our job done.’’
It was a gift, accept it that the Colts handed you the game and move on. Don't take credit for the win.

+1. And nothing irks me more than Colts fans that are bitching about taking out the starters. Had Manning stayed in and gotten injured, those SAME people would have been complaining about not having taken him out.

Grr. So frustrating. I'm so stoked for the playoffs though. Colts won't be playing the Chargers until late, so that's good in my book.

So why play Manning at all, just sit him for the entire game if they are worried about injuries. Going undefeated is a historic event in the NFL, only the Dolphins have run the table. The Colts had a good shot at doing it. If you want to pull the players with a huge lead or if they were losing the game fine, but the Colts probably had 2 easy wins and probably would have run through the playoffs.

I can see resting the team the last game, but why give them 2 games off plus a bye week. I think the team will be rusty and also deflated because they forfeited a game.

Well, I'm a Colts anti-fan;) and I'm bitching about Caldwell/Polian pulling Manning. If the starters are banged up. Fine, rest them. The idea of Manning getting knocked out of the playoff because of injury is laughable. He's the least sack QB in football and had started EVERY game in his Pro career. The chance of Manning be injured in that game is lower than my chance of hitting the lotto.:p Now if the Colts had won, I'd be less pissy. My team would have a better chance of getting in the Playoffs then.:)

Manning and the B-team receivers could have pulled off a victory. Yeah, I hate the Colts, but you have to respect the greatest QB the game has ever known.
