Hopefully Sanchez doesn't make any guarantees. With a solid defense and a solid running game, any team has a shot at the SB..See the 2000 Ravens and 2001 Bucs...

Very true.
Even when a team that is known for passing, when the QB has an off day (like Aikman often had and his career passer rating shows this), can do well with solid running and a strong D. Look at how many times #22 bailed out the '90s Cowboys. The Jets have absolutely nothing to lose and one team, and two potential others, may not take them as seriously as they should.
If Indy is boning up for the Vikings or the Saints, they better backtrack and work on beating the Jets' defense.
While I don't think the Jets QB is an accurate passer and does not pass well on third downs and routinely misses receivers in the open, the Jets have a very reliable set of running backs. My 49ers have the same issue with their QB, but doesn't have the D to back everything up. I hope the 49ers get some solid defensive players with their reasonably good draft pick numbers.
If the Jets go all the way with defense leading the way, it may be a sober lesson teams may have to see. I think football is still inherently a physical sport with intimidation as its chief factor and there is no better way to do this than to have a strong defense. Yes, the rules are different, but there is no way to flub up an opponent better than nailing receivers, catching running backs behind the line, and sacking the QB two or more times in a game. The Vikings strong defense really took it to a very talented Romo and offense.
Too much of the sports press is looking at the QBs.
That being said, Indy has always had a pretty strong defense so it will be interesting to see a physical defensive battle when the Jets come to visit.
