So I tried the series 0 when it first came out but quickly returned it after the first few runs. Fast forward now to the Nike+ watch/Series 2 with NRC built in. It's now a great device for running and the integrated iPhone features. Sure there are 100% hardcore running devices and watches out there by Garmin, but Apples progress and now stability with built in GPS show this has a bright future ahead especially with the health/technology wearable area soon to explode. Hopefully this helps anyone debating whether this device is for them.

So have done a few short 5 mile runs all stand alone GPS without iPhone. It decreased the battery by 15%. I believe the watchOS 3.1 update has a great battery bug fix per my experience and reading others experience. Your mileage may vary but I'm looking forward to double and triple my mileage with the black/gray 42mm Nike+ I have and see how it holds up and integrates the data. The NRC integration and features have been spot on with my experience so far.

Stay safe out there on the road but so far I'm finally really enjoying this watch and incorporating it into the Apple Ecosytem!

Oh ya and the new Nike Run Club playlists are awesome and finally on Apple Music! Missed this when I converted from Spotify but glad to see they are now offered to all Apple Music subscribers. Here's the direct link to the Nike playlists:https://itunes.apple.com/us/curator/nike/id1151621339

Great review. I think the Nike Watch will do well with runners. I almost purchased one, but I primarily focus on weight lifting. I like the perforated bands it offers as well.

Question: I can't find HR while actually running. Someone mentioned top corner, have not seen it. I have only used on 1 run and like the "aubibles" but would like to see,HR. I have HR activated on the app. Any solutions? Thanx. Nick

Are you on advanced mode and on watch is 3.1? When I got the watch heart rate didn't show during run but after updating the os it does now.

I just did my first run with the Nike+ app and AW2 with my iPhone at home. Ican't find where it shows my run map on the iPhone.

How do you start a run Nick? When I do an outdoor run I see the HR about 3 lines down on the left. I don't have a Nike Watch so things could be different. I just use the built in exercise app.

I had a question about the HR showing on the NRC app on my watch. WhenI use the activity app I always see my HR.
One of our super members told me to look for advanced mode- I had looked on the app on the phone. Then I checked it out on my AW2 and found it. It was not turned on, dooh, therefore I wasn't seeing the HR.
Love this forum.

Both Spotify premium and Apple Music are supported within the iPhone NRC app now. However Only Apple Music or owned songs can be downloaded to the Apple Watch. Make sure to update your watch to 3.1 that has bug fixes for Apple Music playlists syncing. I believe spotify would need to create an AW app to benefit their users. Between the new iOS 10 Music userface update and now NRC playlists I've totally enjoyed converting to Apple Music and bringing my family along as well with no complaints!

Seeing as Spotify is pretty childish with Apple (no tvOS, no watchOS) you should switch to Apple Music if it's not a big hassle. You'll get service that integrated well with the ecosystem, and on your watch Apple Music is an app .. meaning you will be able to switch between your workout and music controller very easily by just double-clicking the crown (to last opened app).

Has anyone noticed mile splits are not recorded using the NRC app? I've completed two runs with the Nike+ watch using the Advanced display, and although mile splits are announced via Audio, they are not recorded with the run stats. When viewing the Splits section post-run, the app shows "Splits are unavailable for this run".

I'm having the same issue. It's really annoying. I don't see splits but also I didn't get any nikefuel for my runs and the miles don't register on Leaderboard in the app. Not sure what the deal is. I'm in advanced mode too

Does anyone know what is supposed to happen if I start a NRC run from my phone? I expected that I could start a run from my phone and have it show up on my watch, but when I open NRC on my watch, it just showed the start button instead of showing the run in progress on my phone.

No, if you start on your iPhone then the iPhone app runs and there is no way to 'hand off' to the :apple:Watch app.

:(
That feels like a huge oversight. It's easier to set up the run on the bigger screen of the iPhone, but once you start running, you want to see the stats and control the run from your watch.

Also, it seems if I start a run on the iPhone, it doesn't get added to Activity. Am I correct?

Just looked in the NRC app record of the 5k I ran yesterday. Although no separate record is shown, you can scroll the Pace section of the graph and it shows markers for the splits (in this case each k). From there you can read off the info.
