Disney loves milking Mickey Mouse.
Android loves milking Bugdroid, the Android Robot.
Kelloggs loves milking Tony the Tiger.
Geico loves milking that Gecko.
KFC loves milking Colonel Sanders.

Yeah, all that makes no sense, too. /s

Holy that made me laugh. Nintendo should have called it Luigi run

The version on the NES classic? I thought it played pretty fluent.

Ghosts 'n Goblins was one of the first third-party games on the Famicom and actually wasn't even developed in-house by Capcom. It was farmed out to a company called Micronics who didn't exactly have the best track record.

It's arguably the worst home port of the game overall.

$14 Canadian. Not surprising or unexpected.

Still feel bad for you tho

This just blows my mind! Square Enix charges $17 to $19.99 for Final Fantasy VII on iOS and nobody complains but Nintendo charges $9.99 for a game and people blow up.

Seems pretty par for the course among the MR Crowd. I got flack the other day for sharing someone else's link

Been playing that ghost n goblins and Zelda non stop lol

Ghost and Goblins had the very first theme music of any game that was bomb (It did debut before any Zelda and Mario right)?! My memory is beginning to fade.

But Arcade, REAL arcade days of my youth ... kids just don't HEAR the sound effects:
e.g.
Gauntlet ... "Valkrie dieing" "Wizard Poisoned"
Killer Instinct ... from the moment you placed the coins in BOOOOOM (real surround sound)
"Killerrr Instincctt"
"3 hit combo"
"7 hit combo"
"30 HIIIIIIT ULLLLLTRAAAAA COMBOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" You'd hear THIS out the arcade in teh streets!
FYI: this game debuted weeks before the very first Mortal Kombat who's system pailed in comparison. Fights broke out due to being shamed from 30 hit Ultra combo's in the projects variety stores or downtown Toronto Dundas and Yonge Streets just steps north of Eaton Centre and Dundas Square (2 arcades across Yonge for those that now).

Oh yeah I'm still searching for a prestine working condition arcade console!

I know they've said otherwise, but making it an in app purchase instead of just a $10 game/app I bet is partially so families to have to pay for the game multiple times. Bit of a kick in the junk.

Yup. Easy way for them to build up some capital, lol.
Why would families pay for it more than once? Apple has a family setup on iOS so you only pay for stuff once and share it w your family members for free.

Lol an endless runner is not the same as FF. They could have done SMB3 for $10 and no one would bat an eye but an endless runner nope no thanks at $10

.....

That's what we were discussing earlier. Family sharing does not include in app purchases. So if this Mario Run app is free with a $10 in app purchase to unlock all levels, then it would require multiple purchases within a family.

if that happens, just sign in on that device to download that game then sign out and put the kids account on there. Families still talk on real life.

Families still talk in real life? Not sure I believe that.

It would probably be myself and my son playing it. In all honesty, if Nintendo has done a good job and we both enjoy the game, I don't mind at all to pay for it for each of us.

Welcome to the world of Nintendo - high prices, few sale events, same old IP. It was ever thus.
I see no issues w your statement. Nintendo rarely makes a bad first party game. This game looks very nice but its way too expensive for me since its an endless runner.

ITs sad you don't talk to your kid :p Nevertheless why can't you just sign in on his iPhone app store settings get the game there and then sign out? No loss, no extra $10 OOP and easy to do. If it happens this way.

Lol, I know. That's a good thought - signing in once for that app and then signing him back in.

Looks like the game will need an internet connection to work. I get it, trying to prevent piracy. But for an in app purchase on iOS? Is piracy that much of an issue? My first thought is kids playing on iPod touches or iPads while out or in the car and the game won't work.

I guess knowing a pirate market on iOS exists, even for non-jailbreakers, they're not taking any chances. They're probably a bit sensitive with security too after people worked out how to pirate Wii U games by downloading them directly from Nintendo servers.

Even for non jailbreakers? How is that even possible? I can't imagine it's even remotely significant.

Not too expensive, knowing the care Nintendo take (and their attention to detail) when producing games.

Yeah, they care so much about locking it down and needing permanent access to the internet without any apparent reason. Great experience.

OMG  I have to pay $10 for a game? I thought everything was suppose to be free after I spent $969 years on my iPhone 7+ 256gb. I thought anything I can't physically hold like music, movies, and apps are suppose to be free!

LMAO ... I thought I'd NOT have this app if I didn't want to download it. Yet Apple seems fit to have components of it on my iPhone yet I've never followed the pre-launch or set Apple to remind me when it was available.
