After reading the description Nintendo provided on the App Store it looks like the point of this game is to divulge information you would normally keep private?

All of these complaints about Nintendo not giving up their IPs so easily are incredibly funny to read. If you even remotely understand how the company works at all, you'd know exactly why they still prefer to create their hardware as well as their games.

Isn't it ironic how people that hang around a site devoted to a company who's biggest strength is that they make their own hardware and software is bashing another company and calling it stupid for NOT abandoning that same strategy?

That's actually a pretty insightful observation that hadn't occurred to me before.

I may or may not have worded my original reply to subtly point out that irony :)

Does Nintendo still make New & original AAA titles? Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, PilotWings, StarFox?
We had a Wii-U then sold it because 99.99% of it's use was just playing Wii or other "classic" Games.
It feels like Nintendo has been lacking in developing and capitalizing on their own intellectual properties that people would actually care about. Hopefully this MiiTomo is just Nintendo dipping their toe in the waters a little, and then they will plan some actual games to be released.

The WiiU in my opinion is the best system out at the moment because of its games. It doesn't have a huge library but its AAA Nintendo games are great. Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario WiiU, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros WiiU, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker. All are great games.

Just port Mario games, Mario 64 would be a good start.

The term "AAA" is nebulous as best, but I feel like it can be argued that the software lineup of the Wii U and 3DS is some of Nintendo's work best ever.

A "Good" game line up is highly subjective so I won't debate with you that you feel it's a good line up, and if Nin's current games are exciting enough for you then that's great. But for myself and all but one of my friends have one-by-one either sold or put the Wii-U in a closet. My point being, Nintendo could probably work harder at diversifying their IP offerings (for which Nin owns some amazing, and a diverse range of IP's) on their console especially with so many 3rd party devs bailing out. Believe me when I say I'm not Nintendo hating, but I am largely disappointed and frustrated. I bought into the Wii-U full lock-stock-and-barrol I even ordered the expanded battery for the GamePad, extra controllers, I was ready to go... But then only a couple games of mild interest for the Wii-U came. and found we were using the console more to play Wii Games and other classics we already owned on the Wii so we got rid of the Wii-U. I'm hoping the NX will rekindle the flame again, but am now much more cautious.

This game sounds like the biggest waste of time ... EVER. Why not just bring back the classics? They'd immediately go to the top of the charts.
