Yes, this is in-game footage.

Now PLEASE don't tell me you do not see a radical difference in graphics between this and the first clip you posted.

Are you kidding?

There is a huge difference in using the game engine to create a trailer than that same engine showing single player that has been in development in three months.

OF COURSE real time gameplay will not look as good now. It's silly to think otherwise

I'm glad we all agree that you misspoke previously when you said that the trailer was using in-game graphics. ;)

I didn't mis speak, I said exactly what I meant to say. A trailer generated by the in-game engine is different than actual real time single player graphics from a game three months old in pre alpha...

By child's system, I guess he means Nintendo's trying to appeal to a casual crowd same as their strategy for the first Wii. Unfortunately while the Wii is fun the system and its games are not palatable for more hardcore gamers' tastes and therein lies the hatred of many for the Wii. But alas, Nintendo is probably going to make a killing with this system as they did the first Wii.

So you're ratzzo's liaison. Does he know about this? ;)

Your definition of a hardcare gamer is no where inline with mine, so what you wrote reads kind of silly for me.

Whenever I read or hear about someone referring to themselves or others as a hardcore gamer, I automatically think of a juvenile that likes a very narrow niche of titles, so mainstream accessible fluff like MW2. Or since you're all about flavor, someone that only likes McDonalds.

I got excited when I saw that pre-rendered footage.

Then incredibly disappointed by the actual game footage. Godamnit.

Indeed. This is an early build, clearly, but I'm in no way impressed by either the graphics, or the way they intend for you to use the Wii U controller.

I seriously can't see anyone play like that.. I hope it's just for the purpose of having one guy play, while the audience can watch the external screen.

You start to wonder - maybe if they had the ability for 4 pads, but that would be too expensive...

The only redeeming factor is if this system comes in under $300...

Oh no....

Wii U controller is 'resistive' rather than capacitive. That sucks.

That's just another example of how Nintendo utilise older technology rather than the newest cutting-edge stuff. Also borne out by the rumours indicating that the GPU will be at least 2, if not 3, generations off the pace (HD 4xxx, opposed to the 6xxx that is available now, and 7xxx by the time WiiU launches).

Ugh, I hate resistive screens.

Wii U rumored to be 50% faster than the PS3 or XBox 360. Source

So long that it guarantees a higher res I'll be happy. Can't believe so many of the big AAA titles on PS3 and Xbox aren't even in HD.
Shame about that touchscreen. Though I do like resistive for it's accuracy...

Loads.

Take Halo 3 as an example. Flagship game of the 360, but it runs at 640p, and Bungie have agreed to this. It's then upscaled to the resolution output, be that 720p or 1080p, but the fact remains that it's a 640p game at heart.

Halo 3 isn't the only one either, both the PS3 and 360 have plenty of games that originate at sub-720p resolutions. Simply put, upscaling is the name of the game.

If the WiiU is 50% 'faster', then I'd bet that every game can run at 720p, if not 1080p, although perhaps not looking any different to the PS3/360 games bar the higher native resolution.

I knew that from just watching the videos -- like when the guy was supposedly drawing Link... I looked at the stylus being used and noticed it had a smaller firm tip instead of a fat spongy one. :)

But anyways, the one on the 3DS is actually really good. I figure it's Nintendo keeping their hardware at a certain price point.
