the Magic Mouse is fine once you learn the gestures, which takes about a minute

It's less about the gestures and more about the physical design. It doesn't really let a person use the mouse while keeping their hand in a natural resting position.

the charging port being on the bottom of the Magic Mouse is a non-issue that only people with small minds would take the time to complain about
I will admit that charging is not quite as much of an issue as it's made out to be on the Internet. Mostly because the battery lasts a long time and because it charges quick enough to get a day of use out of it.

However, for a company that often over engineers its products, it's a glaring mistake to put the charging port on the bottom when some small tweaks to the design would have allowed a port on the front. I use an MX Anywhere 3S and its charging port is positioned at the front. While the battery lasts forever and charging is fast enough that it doesn't matter, it is still nice to simply plug it in and keep using it.

I just want to say that the Magic Mouse is the most unergonomic mouse I've ever used.
I just want to say that the Magic Mouse is the best mouse I've ever used. Having a touch sensitive surface is huge, and that's why it's not curved too much. I've been using it since it came out and I've never had any issues with ergonomics. You just need to make sure your chair is at the right height and you have good posture, you hand goes over it mostly flat which is closer to a resting position. Trying holding the mouse between your thumb and ring/pinky fingers, with your pointer and middle resting lightly on the surface. This has always worked brilliantly for me, and I have lots of different gestures configured using Better Touch Tool. It helps me get my work done quickly, and the scrolling is so much smoother than a wheel, like a trackpad.

Of course the charging port on the bottom sucks, but when it happens while working, I can just flip it over and plug it in and go take 5 to go to the bathroom, get some water, or take a clarity break to get some fresh air outside. By the time I return, it has a few hours of charge, which is usually enough to get me to lunch or the end of my day, when I can leave it plugged in. I'd love for them to put the charging port on the front, especially since it would rest between the fingers and not cause any issues, but I doubt they ever will. They'll probably just get to the point where the battery in a future version lasts so long, and the quick charging via USB-C is so fast (a minute or two to get a day's worth), that fewer people will complain.

As a designer, I see it as a challenge. They could probably engineer some mechanism to pop the front top shell up a few mm, just big enough for a USB-C port, that would stay cocked open slightly while charging.

Someone else that’s on Tim Apple drugs. Jesus. The design is crap and horrible to use for anything other than very occasional use, stop defending it.

All nine (9) current iPhones?
A base-spec iMac or two?
iCloud to sync and store his contacts and Notes? Esp. his business-critical ones?

(Wonder if he gets "Are you sure iCloud is turned on?" and "Did you try rebooting your device?" when things go bad...)
Tim Apple is the CEO. I can 100% believe that he would constantly be using all the company’s products and all versions of those products (in his capacity as the CEO).

If he’s visiting the Mac Mini team, it’s 100% believable that he would be using the Mac Mini while doing so. Or if he’s paying a visit to the team working on Pages, it’s 100% believable that he would be using Pages while checking up on the Pages team’s progress.

It’s not an unusual thing for a CEO (any CEO) to say (or do).

Now if he said “I use the Numbers app every day while I’m at home for non-work purposes.”, that you might want to call BS on, lol.

I really don't knnow about the never model - but the 1rst was a great one to work with. Except for the rare battery and connection problems.

and no, the charge port on the bottom is the correct position. every actual designer knows this. it's legitimately the best position given the circumstances. people who keep saying apple wouldn't put it on the front due to aesthetics reasons can't explain why apple put it on the front of the keyboard and trackpad and not on the mouse. maybe if they thought about it for 5 secs, they would know why
Coudnt agree more...

I don’t get mouse people on Mac, the trackpad is so much better (at least for me). First time the trackpad came out all my mice went back to Apple for recycling… 🤔

I am a fan of Logitech and have a wireless mouse that is over 15 years old and love it.

Encountered the Master 3S the other day at Microcenter, just no for me. The shape wasn't even comfortable for my small test session, and the extra button locations feel forced, angle of the side scroll wheel is odd, and material quality is just lacking overall.

It Is like Logitech took up where the failed Microsoft Sidewinder mouse from 10 years ago left off.

The issue with the Magic Mouse isn't the gd charge port…it's in fact very very easy to work around

What isn't easy to work around is the fact that it's…expensive
This is why people are so annoyed about what you admit to having to work around on a very expensive device. There should be nothing to have to work around on something so small and simple.

With many teams testing stuff out(badly), why does apple continue to have poor stuff? For YEARS The Problems with the Magic mouse and other items plague users and Apple refuses to address the issue or upgrade them when the issue new stuff? Is it Arrogance or stupidity? No more USB-A anymore, with Tens of millions of USB-A peripherals, just got S canned, eh? is that Smart? no. What are all those employees doing sitting around at Apple? It's not making new improved products. 13 YEARS for Final Cut Pro to be upgraded! Hmm...

It seems like a religion here. Absolutley pro or absolutely against it. But the trackpad was / is a great device as well. I personally think, it is about the size of the hands and the right position at the table. After reading all that posts i realized, that most of the peoples here can not even define they'r problem with that device...
