I do wish they would have let us pick what toggles to put in control center
That's mostly what it all comes down to (short of oerhaps somehow making even more toggles available there by swiping through them all or something like that, but even that likely wouldn't cover everything and still out some things a number of swipes away for someone who might need to use them often for some reason).

I don't understand how some people are opposed to customization on iOS. What's wrong with having options? Don't need a data toggle? Then don't add to it to Control Center. I wouldn't, I don't need it. What I really want is the ability to add a hotspot toggle to Control Center. Again, you wouldn't actually have to add it but it would be nice if other people could.

It's the same with widgets. People are so against them here because they drain battery and are "unnecessary". They fail to realize that the feature would be completely optional.

Dude, no one is saying that ON/OFF data toggle is not needed. But not that much needed in a control center! I have no evidence to claim but I would bet you anything that majority of people would not even bother. Data is the oxygen of a smartphone, almost every app relies on it!
It's a subjective matter. I have no need for it on my iPhone but it would be handy on the iPad. Keep in mind that IOS isn't exclusive to the iPhone.

I turn off data when traveling international. I was recently in Canada and could text free (included), but data was pricey, so shut it off when not needed.

I also go to France often enough that I bought an Orange France Domino for wifi and run all my data through that, but can still get calls on my US phone number. I just shut off cellular data and avoid VZW int'l data charges everywhere in France. :)

I'm still on iOS 6. So, am I to understand it's not possible to shut off cellular data on iOS 7?!
Of course you can turn off the cellular data.

Yeah, I realize it is subjective. Out of curiosity, why would it matter more on iPad? I have wifi iPad so wouldn't really know why it matters.

This is the future. I mentioned before swapping timer for alarm. There are 4 options in that section they should at least be interchangeable. I can see CC buttons being customisable by iOS 8

How would they do that? They'd have to make the UI more messy, like Android or Windows. When everything is customizable, usability suffers.

I need this feature. I paid for the phone and i should be able to customize it like i damn please. I hope the jailbreak comes s
oon because i am so sick of this crap.
NEVER AGAIN APPLE

I think what you should really do is make some research on the device you are willing to spend that kind of money before you buy it and see what it can and what it can not do. If it doesn't suit you then just don't buy it. It's not that iOS had this feature before and it as all the sudden removed.

i'm curious, what is your experience with Android? I won't say windows because I've never used any other their phones.

On topic, on my S4, I can customize my toggles in the notifications panel. Great feature, I also have quick toggles on my home screen, FULLY customizable. Oh and my home screen isn't messy and usability doesn't suffer...faster than my iPad 3 running iOS7...but wait, THAT can't happen!!

If you enable airplane mode you can't use wifi either...

Actually you can. Just enable airplane mode (which will disable wifi), then re-enable wifi afterwards.

But still this leaves me with the problem that I can't receive non-iMessage texts.

Off topic slightly, but just be aware that turning data off will disable Find My iPhone!

Ran into this problem yesterday when trying to locate a friend's lost-now-found iPhone 5.

Customization of Control Center could introduce a privacy or security issue if the option to allow Control Center access in lock mode is enabled. A user could unwittingly put a function in Control Center that compromises their security or privacy.

They already allow for Airplane mode to be there and used in lock mode, which effectively disables any and all radios and compromises things if someone enables it. All they have to do is require passcode on things of this nature, as they already should for airplane mode.
