You said you were "starting a movement" in the OG post dude...
I said that? I made the post that started the thread, or even one when I referenced a movement?

Seriously, if someone can't get something completely straightforward like that even right, it doesn't seem like much attention could be paid to anything else they might say.

Up untill the last update I could somehow live with the hideousness of the new iOS...but the new iBooks was the
last drop.
I really cannot imagine how a designer, in his right mind could have a look at THIS and say: Yeah, boys that'll do, ship it!
I was seriously concidering buying a Retina mini and not because I needed it but because I thought reading on it would be delightful experience.

Now with the snowblinding white ugliness of the new version, I am decidedly off to Galaxy Note 3, I am sorry...

Have you noticed that whenever Jony Ive appears in Apple keynotes he seems to be in a some sort of a white cell? Do they keep him in there locked or not, I don't know, but maybe that's the reason for all the whiteness in iOS 7...
Poor guy knows no other colour than white... ;)

Yes, because the music app from iOS7 is the very definition of progress. Everyone who thinks that the app sucks must be conservative and anti-progress

iOS7 is just a botched update. It happens every now and then. If Apple allowed users to use iOS6 until they manage to fix iOS7, nobody would complain this much.

But we like moaning and complaining.... If there were no botched updates and you were allowed to roll back, then it would be Utopia.... Most of the MR members would vanish. Now that wouldn't start any movement, will it ?

I think every 3rd major release from Apple should be botched up, gives us all a chance at some kind of movement....

If MR ever changes their L&F significantly, while also breaking some functionality of the site without giving the users the option to roll back, I'll be the first to support your movement.

I felt this way when MR removed the downvote button. It was the perfect response to posts like this...

Assuming each comment in those forty pages are supportive, and separate people, you've got the support of 1000 people, which is zero percent of the 600,000,000+ iOS users. Your movement is a failure, and always will be a failure.

:mad::mad:

Since my last post in this thread I've now got an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 and I upgraded my iPad software to 7 too. I like the design (the buttons could use some work to make them look like buttons though). I miss my web server I had running on the iPad for testing bits of code so I will JB it when I can. The apps are another story though, the calendar and music apps have been severely degraded.

I still think Apple should let people downgrade to whatever version of iOS shipped on their devices though. There just isn't a sensible argument against it and the captive market created by preventing users from downgrading means Apple can be lazy and not hurry to fix any software issues.

Please explain how is downvoting the perfect response to posts proclaiming support for freedom of choice.

So you look at a piece of horrible populist lies with some heavy statistical trolling, and you proclaim it as support for freedom of choice? You must be a politician.

Bumblebritches5's post was wrong for one reason. It's like looking at a protest march and saying counting the number of people who are staying in their homes and not protesting. The fact is that there are people outside of this forum who don't like iOS 7, even if they are not as vocal about it as we are.

Just let it be known that the voices in this thread, or any thread for that matter, represent a tiny minority of the iOS users out there. And even though people are not saying it here, a lot of them think the same things as we do.

I know it can be hard to accept, but the world does not revolve around Macrumors.com.

Ah sorry, this is a misunderstanding then. I thought you were referring to my original post as one deserving of the downvote button, not to bumblebritches5's (which of course is pure rubbish and does not support any freedom of choice whatsoever).

An easy mistake. My original post wasn't worded all that clearly. It might been a little less ambiguous if I'd used a colon instead of an ellipsis. I won't make that mistake again. :)

A COLON would be really appropriate for this thread and movement.....

To date I have only encountered one person in the wild who is pleased with iOS 7. She is new to iPhone so it may be the cache of being an iPhone owner.

Yesterday I had my hair trimmed. The stylist asked me if I am having trouble updating my apps. No, no issues here. I'm on iOS 6.

She let me look at her iPad. I tried to update an app. The update button goes into a circle. The icon for the app is darkened with waiting under it. Nothing else happens. I tried a few more. Same deal.

She told me to stay where I am with my iPad. Said I was lucky. She also said she was a little envious that I had iOS 6.

Are there any non-developers who like iOS 7?

I do. I like the new features like BAR and many of the small refinements made throughout. My battery life is bad, but it was only slightly better with ios6. Your stylist's problem may not be ios7 related. There may just be a download stuck (check the iTunes app) or it needs a reboot.

So far I have only met one person who disliked iOS7 and that's because she didn't understand a couple of new features...
I love iOS 7 , it works great on my iPhone and iPad :D

Thanks for the tips for the stylist's iPad mini. I tried both while I was there. No joy. I suggested she take it to the Apple store for better info.

Here we are nearing December and I'm still holding steady my dislike of iOS7.

I won't forget you iOS 6.

You can't hold onto old things in life, got to move on..... Price of progress, blah blah blah....

I am back... yay...! And while I was away I found this gem... Which fits this thread (and a gazillion other whiny ones) perfectly... :D But, I am sure the whiners will whine about this too... hehehe...

I tend to believe this saying. But on the other hand, if we all just accept everything thrown at us no progress would ever be made. And that goes even more for life and societal changes.

I prefer this one instead:

'God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.'

Reinhold Niebuhr

I think those posting what you call 'whining' think that they may be able to change things in iOS 7. And frankly, if no one ever complained Apple would just continue with 'their' way. In fact, chances are there would be no copy/paste, no MMS, no notification center, etc. Sometimes complaints from enough people do make a company sit up and take notice. And that's a good thing.
