Yes, I'd categorize this as an unconfirmed report or just plain rumor. However, the part about asking people to leave and looking over people's shoulders is exactly what this report suggests. In addition, Apple is apparently going to inform everyone about this policy before they begin the keynote. The "rule" being that you can't transmit any information about the keynote until after the keynote is done. I suspect, however, that that would be hard for them to enforce.
If true, my only real question would be, "Is this a new policy?"

SeanMcg said:I love this. I haven't even read the rumor, but your first line assumes that it is true. Why would you think that?
Even if Apple, or IDG, or Macworld, or whoever doesn't provide 802.11x support during the keynote, there are still other wireless forms of connection, i.e. cellular modems. They might not be as fast, but you don't need much for text. American law prohibits active interference of those frequencies, so Apple cannot do anything other than ask people to leave. And do you really think they are going to be walking around the auditorium looking over people's shoulders?
I don't think so.
