Now that is enough conspiracy theories for now, I'll post again with more madness if it comes.
I think Michael Dell and Bill Gates are behind all of this for sure. :D

Actually, I am relieved.

I got a new boss two months ago and I feel it is still too early to use a sick day to see the SteveNote.

I can save my food poisoning episode for WWDC. Fortunately, I get hit with it for real often enough (last time was Christmas Eve) that I can discuss the symptoms at length with great credibility. This is unnecessary since when you reveal the mystery, the conversation usually closes. I don't know why, but management types seem to need to know whether it was the vomiting or diarrhea type. This may be the Information Age, but this is ridiculous!

Oh, well, it's constantly refreshing some sites on Tuesday and saving the improperly-refrigerated tuna salad story for the next time!

I was looking forward to watching it. I even have it calendared in. Steve is very entertaining. I may try to avoid all the reports of what is announced and pretend like I am watching it live. Forget it. That will be impossible.

Wow, I can't believe all this whining like Apple OWES you a live broadcast. Jeez, WWDCs and the Music Event weren't broadcast live and the quicktime stream were up like a couple hours later.

"Apple is denying my my God-given right! I deserve to watch it live instead of slightly later! In retaliation I shall complain on internet message boards."

Yes, I do realize the irony of complaining about complaining on internet message boards on an internet message board.

duh... remember when during some music confrence, alicia keys said that her ipod wasn't working on a live webcast... a whole bunch of other things went wrong that keynote... t'was fun to watch tho.. notice how that was the last one?

doesn't even matter for me as i will be at school... of course having computer class at that time has it's advantages

Well the last one was the U2 ipod and ipod photo and no alicia keys so i'd say you're incorrect

I wonder how many people would complain if the Superbowl were broadcast a few hours later than live. What about the Stock Market showing today's activity tomorrow. Not like anyone owes us football or profit and loss reports.

Damn, now I'll have to wait 2, 3, maybe even 4 hours before I can see it! How on earth will I ever survive?!

Apple has gone downhill. I'm gettin a Dell.

My feeling:

- IF this is true, I'd speculate that it's because the product announcements are expected to be met with disappointment. Frankly, the expectations are so high for this expo that I don't think there's any way Apple could possibly meet them. I can already hear you guys whining on Tuesday afternoon. "They were SUPPOSED to do this, they were SUPPOSED to give us that." That, of course, is not true, but it'll be said here 500 times by noon Tuesday.

- However, I doubt this rumor is accurate. As has been mentioned, this note doesn't at all have the feeling of coming from Apple execs -- the writing stye is very amateur. Although it is costly to do these live broadcasts, I think the coverage is worth the cost to Apple and they'll do it if they can.

In the end, I expect us to see a handful of super kick-ass new products on Tuesday, and for everyone here to be disappointed anyway -- just like every expo.

I'm really looking forward to watching everyone talk about what WASN'T annoucned, rather than what WAS. Should be fun.

Costly is a relative term ...

Apple is sitting on 6 Billion (with a B) dollars in CASH!! A live webcast will barely put a "ding" in that. Further, if Apple has ANYTHING worth annoucing at Macworld, there WILL BE a live webcast, satellite feed, whatever is available. Steve Jobs knows how to market his companies, better than most anyone. JMHO

Wah... Wah... Boo-Hoo-Stevie-Poo

Steve is a control freak. Believe me, I'm one too. As much as they try, Apple will NEVER prevent leaks. Seeking justice will only do more harm than good. What the F*** are they trying to prove, anyway? It's the information age. NOTHING is SECRET.

JOBS: Take another hit from the DMT pipe.

Guess I'll be lurking on IRC for a transcript of the keynote, or maybe someone will provide SMS updates like MacTeens did last year?

Crap. :(
I was really looking forward to watching the Stevenote live.
Watching it later is still fun, but it's like watching a football game when you already know the outcome.
I don't have the will power to not look on the web and wait until the rebroadcast to be surprised.
One prediction I'll make is that the "headless iMac" will be $599. not $499.
When has Apple ever came out with a product at the price point people have thought?
One way or another it will be an interesting keynote. As usual the rumor sites have set the Mac faithful up for a big disappointment if everything does not come true.

I don't think they're trying to hide anything, since they wouldn't have SUED THINK SECRET if they were trying to keep the stuff on the site under wraps. There's no way a preliminary injunction to take down the site would have happened between the time they filed and the time of the keynote.

The original source of this report, MacInTouch, isn't a rumor site. I'd classify them as one of the best and most reliable Mac news and commentary sites on the internet. IMO, if they report something you can be almost certain that it is true. And if they are wrong I'd bet that they would be the first to correct themselves.

With the possibility of no live keynote broadcast, I think everyone should reset their expectations on what will actually be introduced next week. It could be a lot less than the rumors have suggested.

Of course, nothing would prevent Apple from changing their mind on Monday and actually doing a live video broadcast of the Tuesday keynote. Thus, maybe Apple is trying to artificially lower expectations in an attempt to control the run up prior to the keynote -- that is, attempt to cool things down and then hit us with everything they've got -- $500 xMac, flash iPod, iWork, etc. I hope the latter is true.

Maybe they are trying to avoid the recurring "blue screen of death" mishap Gates had this week in Las Vegas at CES.

I love it when that happens to Mr. Softy.

Seriously, did you see that thing? It was bloody awful; I don't know what they were thinking to let Conan host the thing -- not because he's not a good comic or whatever, but just because of the idea that a comic should host an expo for consumer electronics.

And it looked like Bill was being eaten by that armchair. Seriously, he needs some lessons in posture.

I think they did this because the rumors are true and Steve doesn't want to waste money broadcasting it live, when nothing "new" is coming that we don't know about yet..... just a guess, but u never know.....
hopefully this rumors will be false....

Webcasts aside... could they provide satellite coordinates just for their own stores to use, but not share that with the rest of the world? I don't know how these things work.

Anyway, the real announcements will come out in much easier-to-view ways than watching the keynote. The keynote's entertaining for some technology-followers, but it's not the main event: the press releases and web pages Apple lets out on the same day are more important. That's where I'll get my REAL news. Whatever Keynote coverage (text?) I can get live will be a fun preview of the details--fun, not vital.

So the keynote can wait a few hours and the sun will still rise.

(Knock on wood.)

EDIT: I must now stop posting on MacRumors forever... to preserve my new "68010" status! I seem to recall it only lasts for 5 posts...

i'm surprised at how ticked off people are getting about this. get over it. find religion or something.

*shrugs* Since I’ve started to actually watch Apple’s events I’ve found the size of the feed annoyingly small. What? 300 x 100 or something? Its not that big of a deal for me. I’ve love to watch it but give me a windows that would at least fill up the screen on my PDA.
