Just checked iStocknow at 11:47am Oct 8. According to iStock there is not a single 7+ available in the world...Which leads me to believe Apple has quietly ceased shipment of the 7+ to address the heinous build quality issues. Or so I hope.

Apple seems to be having supply problems with the watch as well. Hardly any SS models anywhere and don't even get me started on the Ceramics.....none available anywhere in the world.
I have been an Apple customer for over 10 years and i cant remember supply problems as bad as this. I think they released the phone and watch a week earlier than they anticipated to get the jump on Samsung and that week has completely stuffed their logistics planning for the launch so they are a week behind on orders

I believe this is the first time that Apple releases new phone in more countries within a short period. so the supply is spread thin.

also Apple makes alot more 7 than 7+, which is based on last year sale demand. you can find Jet Black 7 easily. so Apple prediction is wrong. but it is not their fault since history shows more people like smaller phone.

I don't buy that the JB issue of low stock has to do with the finish.

Seems like they had no issue cranking it out for the 7. Based on what we know, the process should be the same for both sizes of the phone.

Yes the process is the same but the demand for the Plus is way higher.

There have been shipments. Of course varies by color and carrier. Black across the board has been limited though.
I picked up a black plus 128gb at an Apple Store on Tuesday. Never pre-ordered. Just refreshed the heck out of iStockNow and saw several shipments in stock throughout the day.

Main differences between 7 and 7Plus:

Screen size

Camera modules

Ram

Battery size

Demand

Any one of these differences may have run into complications or supply constraints.

Regardless, this is the worst supply constraint on a whole version of the phone yet. It's not some simple high demand like the gold iPhone 5s.

That's what I'm wondering. I just checked iStock right now, and there's only a scattered few pluses available in the whole US and Canada. But yet almost every version of the 7 is available in most stores. That would seem to be a very wrong prediction indeed. I've never seen it that lopsided before where one model is completely available and the other model completely unavailable. This tells me there might be some kind of manufacturing issue with all the pluses, not just jet black.

Just walked into the apple store here and they had one 128GB 7 Plus Black in stock.

And that's in a Manhattan store, where you would expect them to send more stock! And as an aside, I looked at the watch availability as well- it's very similar to the Plus availability. Only a handful of stores in North America have any aluminum watches.

For whatever it's worth, I called in for the IUP thing with Apple support back in September. They weren't expecting to get me my 7 plus jet black until Oct. 19 but I just got an email saying that I can pick one up tomorrow

That's solid. I bet those previous IUP customers who reserved a phone stemming from that whole 7 IUP launch debacle are getting first priority when it comes to store stock.

Except that the pluses show up all the time on iStock; they just disappear immediately. The fact that demand is radically outstripping supply doesn't mean that there is no incoming supply, and there clearly is.

Yeah, Apple services the carriers before they service 3rd party retailers.
Not true. I work for an att Corporate store, we've had no iPhone pluses at all, yet Best Buy's have had them. Same with jet black 7's. We've had no jb's but Best Buy has.

Well I would argue that there is at least far fewer pluses coming in, unless you're arguing that people are choosing the pluses 99 to 1 or something like that.
